At 4-8, probably couldn't do any worse.Maybe we should coach the team by polls on social media sites
I don't understand the hand wringing over whether or not an average at best QB from a 4-8 team is going to return. If you want to get into reading the tea leaves, I'm not sure Briles would have accepted the job with an unsettled QB situation. Could be an indication there was understanding that Sellers would return.
I can't argue against this.I don't understand the hand wringing over whether or not an average at best QB from a 4-8 team is going to return.
I really don't think Noland or Woods or any other QB would have had any worse record this season. The "signature win" of the season came against a 5-7 UK team that fired their coach.
Lol….well you got me there. They should just hire me instead. If Lamont will hire me, I could have won him 10-15 more games with substitution patterns aloneAt 4-8, probably couldn't do any worse.![]()
Maybe you're one of those hidden geniuses?Lol….well you got me there. They should just hire me instead. If Lamont will hire me, I could have won him 10-15 more games with substitution patterns alone
Well, I don’t like to bragMaybe you're one of those hidden geniuses?

And the yardage lost on those sacks? That took us out of field goal range when he had the option to throw the ball away? How many sacks? How many sacks on 2nd and 3rd down? How many sacks when we are in fg range?
BAD damn rule!!!!! Promotes mediocrity!!.
I don't think this is true any longer after the NCAA settled earlier this year, is it? Universities can now directly pay players and recruits. I think they are called "commitment incentives" or something like that. As I understand it, recruits were previously "paid" through NIL collectives, so the school was not guilty of pay for play, but now payments can be made directly. The rule is in place because you can not have "Pay for Play", athletes can't get paid to play or commit to a school.
But pay for play is now open and legal, right? Schools can pay athletes directly.Harvard is talking about the money schools are allowed to pay directly. Its capped at 20.5 million.
There are still 3rd party NIL deals beyond that. Those are still between the collective and the players.
The 20.5 million is called revenue sharing when I look it up, but there was no mention of if you could tie it to games played.

I sure hope players forfeit any unpaid NIL royalties when they transfer. That is the capped 20.5 million "revenue sharing". I looked briefly, and couldn't find rules about the payments. Like if you could tie it to games played, or on the field performance.
UGA's collective is suing a player who transferred to Missouri for $400,000 for breaking his NIL contract.I sure hope players forfeit any unpaid NIL royalties when they transfer.
Sounds reasonable.UGA's collective is suing a player who transferred to Missouri for $400,000 for breaking his NIL contract.
so we should " attaboy" him? should we cater to his sensitivities?I wasn't hoping for anything. I was just referring to how your view to what you would say was coming off. Reducing his pay, Showing him his negative stats, etc. If that is how you are going to come off, just let him walk. You don't enter a negotiation with someone you want to lead your team next year. You guys were coming off like you were mad at him. If that is your attitude, that's okay, but you just let him walk.
we dont even offer many of the top DLFirst, I'd invest in offensive and defensive lineman. Former Panther's GM, Dave Gettleman talked about the importance "hog mollies" or big, physical, powerful lineman. How much does it cost to attract and retain five offensive lineman and four defensive lineman? Georgia and Ohio State cannot sign (pay) all
In a negotiation, one party always negotiates from a position of strength and one from a position of weakness. Sellers does not seem to have much in the way of strength. He had a terrible year and the team finished 4-8. His only leverage is threating to leave and that is a pretty weak threat. If he claims to have another team willing to pay him more, we should wish him well and hold the door for him as he leaves. Otherwise, lower his NIL money and tell him he should be happy to get it.so we should " attaboy" him? should we cater to his sensitivities?
There is an art to negotiation, and I get your point. In this instance, it seems, whoever's writing the check has the better frame.
I don't know about his pro prospects at this point, but I never could see transferring being a reality. No top 15ish team was going to pay him to come there after the season he just had. Too many questions. That left lateral-type moves to UK level programs. And what's the point in that? The only way it made sense was if there was a just a rift between him and the coaches/team.TBS reporting it looks likely Sellers is returning next year
Agree. NFL would be only competition and his stock had to have fallen after this season.I don't know about his pro prospects at this point, but I never could see transferring being a reality. Maybe it'll still happen, but I don't see a CFP contender throwing the bank at him.
Yeah, fallen to like 5th round.Agree. NFL would be only competition and his stock had to have fallen after this season.
I guess he's hoping Briles can increase his pro prospects but how Sellers fits in his offense gets interesting. He's going to have to improve as a passer no doubt. I'd imagine there will be an open competition obviously for Briles to assess.Yeah, fallen to like 5th round.
If he could get any kind of decent NIL deal with an App State type program, that might be the best rehab for his draft prospects. SEC DCs know how to shut him down now, Sun Belt DCs don't have the talent to shut him down.
If he tries to do that while giving a half-*** effort to save himself for the draft we'll be better off without him.I guess he's hoping Briles can increase his pro prospects but how Sellers fits in his offense gets interesting. His passing is what it is. He wasn't a great passer last season nor this season. There is no real reason to expect him to suddenly become a good passer. Sellers is a classic star HS QB. He is a great athlete with a strong arm who made his name by scrambling for yards when his first target wasn't there. In HS, his athletic ability made him hard to stop for HS teams. In college, the other team has athletes as good as he is.I guess he's hoping Briles can increase his pro prospects but how Sellers fits in his offense gets interesting. He's going to have to improve as a passer no doubt. I'd imagine there will be an open competition obviously for Briles to assess.
We had 2 players in the top 25 in NIL money. The poor mouthing about our NIL budget can stop now.I read on another site he was #5 in NIL payout in the nation. He certainly didn't produce anywhere near that level of investment. Also, is the cash we paid him part of the reason we weren't successful in the portal? There is only so much money to go around.
