My guess is the team didn’t hate each other back then.
That's why I don't buy the "this team has no talent" trope. We have plenty of talent we just aren't playing worth a damn.
Its a mental thing and there is a cancer on the team that needs to be cut.

Idk if that game is still up on YouTube or not but if you rewatch, Purdue played really passive defense.
They also missed a lot of open threes.
One thing is clear, if you guard this UK team aggressively they will resort to selfish play and a lot of bad shots

I work 2nd shift schedule and I miss lot of games during the week, so I have to watch highlights. That exhibition game i saw lot of red flags that I wasnt impressed with the win and have lot of work to do. I was not impress. There was thing went around that Purdue didnt watch any tape or scouting on us and uk barely won...that says alot about our team wasnt that good.
Imo and others have said, this team isn't constructive very well at all. And, yes talent level does drop off tremendously. Players who just not good enough for this level of ball.
Noah and Chandler should not be getting minutes they are getting.
Andrija... college game is too quick and physical for him, and this goes for lot international players.
Reese porter..should not be here. Waste of scholarship...Will not have much of impact down the road at kentucky

Id actually burn Hawthorne's redshirt and play him as many minutes as he could stand next game.
No one else deserves the pt so throw him out there and see what he can do.

I love it. Burn the redshirts and let all of our salaried millionaire's leave. Who cares. No difference in losing by 20, 30, or 40. Id rather be rooting for a team that is trying.
