Im not upset about it like I would be with a hyped up Cal team.
Obviously, the season is going to be tough, as the sec has a lot of good teams. Lets hope we win half of our conference games if we continue to not adapt.

I agree, I don’t feel worried at all though. I’d be concerned if Cal was here because I know nothing would change.
Well personally, I’ll know we’re back when we make a Final Four again.
I dunno. I mean we were also pretty pissed last 5 years too with losses lol
Do people realize Cal left us with NO PLAYERS? for coach Pope to put this team together in a matter of months and do this well in his first season is phenomenal.

Look I'm on board as long as we hustle. We got outworked Tues. I was taught you might get beat, you might get out talented, you might get out...that's it. You don't get outworked, out heart. Out hustled. You never leave anything out there.
I meant to start a thread on this very topic yesterday, but never got around to it. Thank You Mark Pope for putting the passion back into my Big Blue fandom. Tuesday night's loss stung...it had been a hot minute since I let a regular season loss bother me
After taking a day to process I have come to this conclusion.... we lost to Clemson, a likely tournament team, on the road in a hostel environment but it could have been worse, we could have lost to UNC Wilmington or Evansville at Rupp.
People here would be irrationally angry if UK went 40-0. They'd be bitching that they didn't win by enough or that the uniforms suck or the floor looked stupid......
In this day and age of UK basketball I'm not sure what" being back" really means. Some random thoughts:
Exactly where were we the last 4 or 5 Cal years?(couldn't win the SEC regular season or a game in the SECT)
Pope put together a team out of thin air in about a month (that beat Duke) It was all sunshine rainbows and lollipops until we lost a one possession game in a hostile situation(not to mention with refs who couldn't see Clemson commit a foul but had no trouble spotting fouls committed by UK before they happened)
Some here on the board are ready to jump ship, throw in the towel and never let Kerr Krissa or some other selected player out of the locker room ever again.
It would be nice if we were like KU or Auburn and never lost a game(oh wait my mistake)
These guys wear a UK uniform and win or lose they are my team

When I first joined this board, it was constantly trolled by opposing fans. That stopped during the last few years, and it was just us bickering.

We know we're back because Wednesday morning after our loss to Clemson. The top news from ESPN at the bottom of the TV screen told that Kentucky had lost. Over the last several years we lost so often it wasn't a blip on the basketball radar screen when we lost.
