How will Saturday weather affect the outcomes?

I am curious on other opinions here. Most if not all the games are on Saturday. I know GW/CG has already changed venue. I have to believe that changing day and time could be a consideration for some teams. Ref scheduling being a major factor. Has any team(s) considered moving a game to Friday night ahead of the storm? To gain or retain an advantage.

I'm sure it has been thought of in coaches rooms but not sure it will happen. Ref scheduling won't be a factor. There are only 16 games.

CG, probably not a bad idea but difficult. Most coaches would be very reluctant to give up a day of practice and you have to get both schools to agree to play on Friday. If Saturday is as miserable as everyone seems to think it's going to be it might make for some happier fans.

As a ref if you cannot adjust for a semi, time to rethink your commitment.

1st 2nd round with some working college yes. But if you want to do a final !!

I think it favors Cary and Prairie Ridge big time as well as WV. Lville is at Bradley so not sure weather like further South.

I don't know Edgy, my friends in Naperville think they have to stop for gas in Kentucky on their way to my house in Frankfort.

Montini's game has been run based this year with an average of only about 15 pass attempts a game. Their defense has given them the luxury of playing with the lead. Ball security is the bigger issue for teams this weekend.

@TeeOH nails it. I see them throwing 12-14 times this weekend, maybe less if the wind rips. Expect a quick game, over in 2.5 hours.

I think Libertyville is gonna be really glad the game is at Bradley-Bourbonnais...latest AFD is calling for 6 inches in Lake County IL and barely a trace south of I-80.

Looks like 2-4 inches here in Palatine but snow ending long before 5pm kickoff. Blustery northerly winds and in the 20s for the two evening 8A games should make running the ball at a premium.

High winds and frozen rain/snow was a bad combination for LA's spread/option in the past (e.g. LA v. the Brook in 2011. Not taking anything away from Bailey and his crew that year. They were awesome.) However, LA's offense is so well balanced this year, that I don't think it will be as much of a factor as it's been since the Hoerster days when all we did was pound the ball up the middle. LA has a stable of really big, athletic backs that can move the chains and eat up clock. Although, holding onto the ball may be a challenge for both teams. Playing in snow was the best!

I dunno, I guess I'd be more worried about throwing off my own teams schedule by doing something like that.

lets just say in this weather, triple option offenses don't have all three options without some serious fumble potnetial. I think we should run an over under for how many total turnovers there are in each class playoffmgajes t today. The team with the least most likely wins. I just don't see any ball carrier being able to hold onto the ball today. It's going to be interesting to watch.

Can you imagine if that game were played at CG today instead of GBW/S? How much snow do you folks have this morning?

GE has about 6" now with another 3-5" on the way. Just wondering whether you can plow these new turf fields or whether you cause too much damage.

Funny part is that these players grandkids will roll their eyes when they hear the story of the 10" of snow and 25 mph winds with single digit wind chills.."sure you did grandpa, and how big was that fish again?"

Not to be an Iowa wussy, but shouldn't they think about the safety of first, the players traveling and second, injuries from playing on an icy field? But then again, what's the option with the finals a week away?

I think before too long games are gonna get pushed back or moved altogether. It's brutal out - over a foot here in the LC. It's not all about playing as much as its about the teams actually being able to get to the game location.

We keep looking it at an X and O perspective. Keep in mind that those big hits are going to sting that much more as well. Could play a factor

Not sure you get as big of hits when you are skating on a snow covered field. Speed is cut down. Holding on to the ball will be crucial.

Seriously people, it's snow. Not apocalyptic snow, just snow. Newt's point on travel is true, but as far as playing the games, just sack up and strap up.

Seriously, it's snow...not lightning. There is NOTHING better than playing Football in the snow, absolutely nothing at all. It's what you did as a kid and what you loved watching on Saturday and Sundays. It's what makes Football the best. The inclement weather, the scenery of the field with snow on it.

By the way...there isn't a centimeter of snow in the city, it's rain/snow right now. Not a drop. Can't wait to sit in traffic for 1-2 hours on the way to Darien tonight for the HS/CM game. Bringing 2 cans of dip.
