I was at the game tonight. LT is just getting killed with line play. Both sides of the ball, just killed. Just like last year despite having seemingly very good individuals. I think it's schemes. I watched their 7-on-7 and was impressed with their skill players and thought they might surprise, but the DL seems to give up 8 yards a carry (when it's not giving up 50), the QB has no time to throw and is getting killed, and their skilled RB can't get anything going. It's going to be a long season.
Not to take anything from Hinsdale South either. I'll just say this: Marquese Garrett.... wow! I still need to see more of his passing but 6'4" and such a dynamic athlete. I'd be surprised if he doesn't end up high Division 1.

I’m just kidding Guido. LT lost a lot from last year and has a coaching staff that perennially underachieves. That team is simply not a playoff team, with all the talent walking the halls that should never happen at LT. Hopefully JJ can rally the troops.
Garrett is a terrific athlete, however he is not a d1 caliber thrower. To be honest he’s a stretch at QB for a good high school team. Should have remained at RB. There’s absolutely no chance he’s 6’4” either. Definitely has d1 athleticism.
Definitely a different level of talent at that position last year. The line seems to still be shellshocked from the hitters and condors last year. It is crazy how LT continues to underachieve with the numbers they have. At this point the claims that it is coaching seem true. They are the biggest school in the WSC Silver yet have never done the damage in the playoffs
How close is Naz geographically to Lyons township HS? It looks like a fair number of potential students could go to either School and have a similiar daily commute? (Yes I realize one is “free” + property taxes and the other has tuition $’s + property taxes) But Am I looking at the geography properly?
Nope, never. Btw I was kidding about QB, Guido’s kid is QB there and NOT the problem. There are lots of issues though.
La Grange area kids can either play for state championships, or play for LT.
Looks like another down year in the Silver. I don't know that I've ever seen it like it has been the past two years.

Ha you totally had me for a second! JJ needs to play better and was off a couple throws last night, but conversely he provided their only positives last night too with his feet and his TD pass.. Tyrone Smith is a terrific RB, the fact that neither he nor JJ can get anything going tells me exactly where the problem lies. JJ is instantly scrambling for his life wile Tyrone has 3 guys on him before he hits the line of scrimmage. Plus the defense (like last year) simply can't stop the run and can't get off the field. It's going to be a long season. (sigh).
I personally like Weinberg and root for him, but considering the size of the school they've been underachieving for a long time now. It may be time for the changing of the guard now.
I also totally agree with your assessment on the HS QB. Just a really, really smooth dynamic athlete but I too question his arm. Not saying it's not there, but what I saw last night wasn't enough.. He'll be a D-1 player, we'll just see if its at QB or WR.

Saw a little bit of the game on nfhs and agree that HS QB is a great athlete. I was impressed by how skilled/patient he was running the read option. Also can throw a rope. Willobrook vs HS will be a great game this year.
