No inside knowledge here, but I'm worried about it. If he is at the point where a school like Michigan wants him, he is definitely looking at being well paid to play college football and possibly looking at being even more well paid in the NFL. It seems to me that it would be hard for any wrestling program to compete with that. I hope I am wrong.
He's been offered scholarships from

Urggg… the picture of him taking a visit to Iowa football a few weeks back takes on a different connotation now. I was never that nervous about Cael continuing to recruit him as he’s seemed pretty locked in w DT but football NIL and the allure of people telling him he’s NFL caliber are truly hard to shrug off for an 18 year old. Hoping DT’s visit a couple weekends ago pays dividends. If not, I’m completely blind as to what our HWT path would be for the next couple of years.

The big thing with Ross is that almost every school offering him is a wrestling school. Michigan did the same thing with Paris and the guy never played a down. How many of those offers are truly football-only? Is he simply going to stop wrestling or does he want to do both?
I say that knowing nothing about him as a football player. Maybe he is just that good. The Michigan offer stands out like a sore thumb though.

Sad that the best recruit Oklahoma St has had in awhile (Jax ) can't be talked about on a Oklahoma st forum until "they" say it's allowed, but I understand there is still unknowns and it should be Jax’s choice when to publicly announce what’s going on.
Chase I have never voted Democrat and I have voted in every election since 1992, but I am a RINO and I love much of the gender issues with the democrat regime.

He is a blue chip top tier wrestling recruit. He is an above average 3 star football recruit.
His future to make money beyond college sure appears to be in a singlet and not wearing a helmet and I’m sure he and his family know that as well.

Anyways if Jax comes here in January, cool. Hopefully Ross doesn't get swayed away from OSU wrestling. There is a real path for post-grad employment here. The NFL on the other hand is extremely hard to find success in.
My worry comes from how much he can make in pads versus a singlet in college.
I may be jaded, but I can see several Programs, pushing Football on him to injure OSU Wrestling progress.

Ross is a solid high school football prospect but from my eyes this is more of a stunt to pull him into school where he will wrestle. He would be a project in football not sure fire recruit. I coached d1 football so I have a solid eye for prospects
Kansas St is the only school who's offered without wrestling. But as you know from coaching D1 football most staffs aren't into bringing football players in so they can play another sport. And it definitely wouldn't happen at 8 universities. The conspiracy theory that football teams are offering so they can stop the momentum of Oklahoma st wrestling is hilarious Chase is obviously a big conspiracy guy

It’s not out of the realm of possibility that a FB coach does the Wrestling coaching a favor.
lol im sure other schools can care less about Oklahoma state but definitely get him on campus and if one doesn’t work out he can shift to his secondary sport alla Ben Kueter. Truth be told Ben was a better prospect instinctively to me in football. Deshawn is far the better athlete though.

Others in the know think that Ross wants to wrestle and not play football. Sorry I repeated the message of Michigan football.
Wrestling being after football will definitely help when he's doing something he's all in. If I'm Oklahoma st NIL I'm a little nervous though. It's why some programs don't like paying HS NIL because if they decide to not come you don't get the money back

I was looking at my recruiting section of my OSU spreadsheet and I noticed Mirzo Khayitov from 2023 and found that he is not on the rooster. What happened to him?
I think maybe he's just training with the RTC and not actually on the team but I could be wrong about that.
