We really need someone around 174. Facundo has only one more, Zack has health issues. Robb and BT gone. Mike White is already 190. Melvin Miller or Jayden James would have been perfect. Dang.

Agreed. I wonder if we could see a lot of the current roster grow and slide up? Especially to make room for everyone coming in. I honestly don't know it seems most of them are pretty short. Jax looks like he could get to 149.

Hodgins is currently #9 at 190. That weight has been a bloodbath this season with only White staying above it. Everyone has been beating each other up. Hodgins has lost to Tsarni twice this year but Tsarni has lost to other guys pushing him to 8th thus affecting Hodgins ranking.

Holman has been on a big growth spurt. He has gone from 120 to 157 to 190 in high school. His only loss during HS season the last two years was a 9-6 loss to Waters #2. He has beat Carl Betz #5 and 175 #1 Mario Carini.

Dee could go to 174. Facundo 184. But current weight feel the correct one for Facundo. Dee is already gassing at 165, is he cutting a lot?

One thing about it…there will be lots of discussion.

Jax can go lots of ways. Ronnie can hold 33 for awhile.

Vega might be the tallest 141 in the country…he’s got room.

I promise they have a plan.

I don’t check the individual weight rankings much but he was 9 overall on Flo’s last 2027 big board.

I think part of Ryders struggles have been the fact that he's small for the weight and not a true 184. There's some stout boys in the big 10

Let's not write Ryder off just yet. He's young and injured.

Also, Mikey White will, hopefully, push him next year at 184.

I'm definitely not writing him off, but I think we need more depth and competition at the upper weights. White will be a true freshmen with much less experience than most incoming wrestlers, I'd guess he'll need a redshirt year, also don't know if he could make 184 next year.

I agree. Particularly with his style of wrestling. His style is very physical - it doesn't work very well if you are smaller than your opponent.

Yeah, he could make 74.

His biggest issue has been the shoulder for a long time.

There is no reason to cut a bunch of weight because it makes you big at the weight. There’s an optimal spot, yes.

I agree we need to bring someone in at 184 to at least battle Ryder for the spot, especially with his shoulder. Portal?

There are only four current 184s who I think would be a clear improvement over the options we will have in the room next year. One is at PSU and ain't going anywhere. One might be on the move but highly unlikely it will be to Payne County. That leaves two...

I agree. I think Facundo and Ryder are both small for their weight.
They are. I believe both are wrestling up a weight from last year. Ryder may of spent some time at 184 last year but I think Facundo spent all his time at 165 before transferring.

He was a fan favorite at his last school. Then they replaced him with someone who is going to outscore him by double digits at NCAAs. We will do the same thing if given the chance. I hate what college sports has turned into, but that is the cold reality.
You think the shoulder is new?

Don’t disagree with the post though. I just choose to let the guy not be a freshman, be healthy and enjoy what we can at this point.

No reason to bang on a kid at this point in the season.

Back to HS Recruiting News...

Mikey took losses too so he's not above the bloodbath, he just had better timing. He lost 3 times in September at Elite 8 Duals to #3 Mastny, #5 Betz, and #6 Wilder.

I still see Adam Waters as the top guy at the weight, but I hope to be proven wrong when they meet at the Dapper Dan!

I’m praying for McEnelly but i feel like he’s Minnesota through and through.
