I said could, should is where it is.
Stop it. This is getting ridiculous.

The only person out of weight class is Ryder, and that's because he just couldn't/didn't put on the weight they thought he would. I would bet having a bad shoulder that should have already been operated on didn't help.

I think the discussion was simply about how big or small guys are for their particular weight classes, not whether guys should switch weight classes to get the best team result. Team wise they have to be where they are.

These guys are being paid 6 figures a year. You really think DT is gonna pay for athletes to be in the wrong weight class? You really think he's going to put guys in the wrong weight and then think he's going to challenge PSU for titles?

(well, you did for Richie, but that was cuz he lied. LOL)

Has Ryder’s shoulder been an issue for longer than the month or two since it popped out in w match? I think I’ve seen it alluded to a couple times on here now that his shoulder has been a problem for longer than some (me) realize.

I think we’re running around and getting ourselves bogged down in a lot of hypotheticals, fellas. But as the old saying goes: if if’s and but’s were berries and nuts we’d all have a merry Christmas.

Seems the reality is quite a few guys ā€œcouldā€ go 1-2 weight classes above/below where they’re competing now, and for reasons unknown to rubes like me they’re wrestling where the staff thinks they’ll be the best contributor and score the most points. They get paid 6-7 figures to make those decisions and early results suggest they know what they’re doing.

2 Iowa fans commenting on OSU guys. And telling us how much each OSU guy is paid and who lied. Like we are supposed to believe you guys on OSU things?
Check the results 🤷. Did anyone know Mower beat Merrill 8-4 at the wrestle off? Who was the one who said Jax was gonna wrestle back in October? Maybe you should listen

You are 100% wrong on this.
No disrespect man but I dont double down on something without real knowledge. Trust me, Serge aint walking around with a wash board stomach lol. Ive been told by people in the room the cut isnt hard and from even a fan perspective not once has Vega looked sucked out. He "may" go 149 next year but it wont be because the cut was hard this season. 1000%.

and i'm telling you those people are either purposely misleading you, or have a Dory like memory.

There was a time this summer when they thought Vega wasn't going to make 141. Sure, his body has acclimated, much like Jax. But Vega is a giant 141 and he has a hard cut. He's just been a professional about it... which, he literally is.

Also controlling the narrative is very important. So people get told what they want them to believe

He honestly should have had surgery over the summer, but didn't wanna.
Speculating weights next year will probably be the primary discussion point offseason for us. I still think M. White needs a year in the room but based on his height and build, I'm guessing he could make 184 (unless he's still getting taller). Would be interesting if Ryder takes a medical and then comes back at 174 when Facundo leaves. Curious if there's anyone worthwhile in the 184 transfer portal this year.

And how do you know that your sources aren’t intentionally misleading you?

Vega literally wrestled 138 a year ago. Regardless of rumors before season he's never really pulled hard he just doesnt like pulling (who does?) and isnt the best at it (discipline).

When I'm told something by more than one person who really knows with nothing to gain I dont see any false narratives lol. Being told by someone who isnt on staff that Serge doesnt cut hard is hardly a damn conspiracy :ROFLMAO:

I think Iowa wrestling sucks so bad right now it makes them wanna run the Cowboy team down.

Hell boys heres the thing about 141 next year anyway- 9 or so of the top 15 guys including 3 of the top 4 will be gone. The top 7 guys return at 149. Whoever goes 41 for the Cowboys next year is walking into a weight that really clears out. Sure there will be new faces at the weight but damn!

Are you sure Bassett can make 41 lol?

And you'll scoff of course but from what Ive heard currently Jax may be back at 33. But a lot can happen in a year and his dad is a big dude.
I’ve seen a lot of VT fans say that Bassett will be at 41 with Henson and 49 and then Bo will move up the next year.

Bo is currently a 141 in college. He's not very big . Jax was having trouble with 61kg and he even talked about it. I don't see him back at 133 but it is Stillwater hell Dee is a 157 🤣

They could start off
Ventresca
Seidel
Bassett
Henson
Miller
That 1st 5 will compete with
Lilledahl
Blaze/ono
Ono/blaze
Van ness
Kasak
Man. Miller does NOT need to be at 157. He was gassing so bad at clarion.

everything depends on Henson's decision though.

I got it:
Ventresca
Seidel
Bassett
Gaj
Henson
Miller

That's a salty 6
