Yeah this one would have been nice to snag, but think he's a bit too small to fit into the rotation anywhere unless we have no confidence in Lewis, OR we plan on moving Lowe off the ball which I doubt.

Wrap up Pierre, please!! Just open the checkbook Pope!

Seems like we need more shooters though.

I think people are undervaluing Acaden Lewis' shooting ability, the kid can really shoot it IMO.

Obviously we know Jasper can and will fill it up, Kam Williams as well, and I think Lowe will be a really good shooter when he isn't asked to do it all like he was at Pitt.

Oweh and Chandler should shoot 1,500 3FGs per day, every single day, until Big Blue Madness. Same with Perry and Noah.

But you are right, we still need a couple more guys who can stretch the floor.

If we can land Folgueiras at the 4 spot, he can shoot it (42% from 3 this season).

Need at least one more 3&D guy.

Wish Lowe could play off ball. His shooting percentage says no.

If we live by the 3 we WILL die by the 3. Look what happened when TN shut down the 3 pt line. I hope our guys are shooting some short range shots on the move. We need kids that can come hard off screens at the elbow and make the shot. Lay ups and 3s can be shut down.

yes, more shooters
Weve only seen the leaps players make their first season under Pope. Hopefully, returners can take even greater strides in the off-season when they're not scrambling to learn the system.

Oweh was 35.5% from three.

Chandler 34.7% in his first season back after a two year hiatus.

Garrison 30% (not good enough, but he's got a nice enough looking shot and it's pretty evident he improved a ton on his deep range this season)

Perry and Noah are much better shooters than their freshmen numbers show.

Kam is 41% IIRC

Alvaro is 41% (if we officially land him, that's another great shooter)

We still don't know who our other PF or C is going to be or if we're going after another guard or wing.

Lots of unknowns. It's fun to think about how these guys will improve. Gonna be exciting.

Have you watched that video of Lewis that was posted this morning? I’m not saying he’s the answer, but if you want a player who can make short range shots on the move and come off screens, you might like his game.

Chandler’s 3pt shooting really came on strong at the end of the season.

Over the final 10 games, he was 13/25…that’s phenomally good. So, he definitely has potential to be a sharpshooter from the outside.

In the SECT and NCAATs combined, he shot 7/13, so he was also consistent against good competition.

Yeah I mean totally agree, it's about BALANCE.

Last year, after Kerr went down, the only guy we had on the perimeter who could make plays off the dribble consistently was Oweh, but he can make plays for himself, not create for others.

Butler (when healthy) could create for others SOME, but when we were running lineups of Perry/Oweh/Noah/Brea/Chandler, etc., we had almost no playmaking for other people.

Lewis, Jasper, and now Lowe are ALL guys who are elite playmakers, specifically not just for themselves but for others as well. THAT'S what opens up the 3PT line, so now we need to go get another guy or two who can knock down shots at an elite level, OR do a bit of both with shot making AND playmaking.

Go get one more perimeter 3&D guy for some elite shotmaking, land Alvaro who can stretch the floor at the 4 spot, land a backup 4 and 5 man for some rim protection, and let's go!

100%, I think he has great potential to turn into a real knock down shooter, he could absolutely be one of the better 3&D guys in the conference if he just gets his a$$ cheeks in the gym every single day, multiple hours a day, and just get shots up!

That’s the thing about continuity. In addition to the freshmen and the transfers we have 5 returners. 10 players so far and 9 of them need minutes. We grab a couple more like expected and you have a rotation of 12. Don’t play guys for a year or two you don’t have those guys any longer. It’s either a cutthroat business and you cut guys lose which will rub some the wrong way or you can’t take additional players because you committed to the guys you already brought in and it will rub some the wrong way. Perry is cool with it now I have no doubt, but 12 players minimum who are too good to not play. 15 on rosters is only gonna boost the portal in the future I could see 3k in there next year.
