Let's not kid ourselves. In the short term, losing Marrow would have been an ENORMOUS blow to Stoops master plan for our program. With signing day so close, feel like we would have lost some key guys had Marrow left. UK has to continue to upgrade talent and he has proven to be the engine to our unbelievable recruiting classes.

For Mitch Barnhart, got a be a bit of vindication regarding his commitment to the football program. He went to bat for his head coach and made sure nothing financially would be the difference in him leaving or not.

Happy for Vince, he deserves it. Kids love him. Parents love him. I love him!

Huge day for the Big Blue. Further proof that we are rising up. Wins are coming.

Courtney Love's dad sees it as a big statement for the direction UK is heading.

"If Vince does decide to stay at Kentucky, that's a statement by itself that Kentucky program is going in the right direction because that's big-time." said Love's father, Cory, who has known Marrow since they were young boys in Youngstown, Ohio. "That's a huge statement, because I can almost guarantee a lot of success and some high bowl games at Michigan. I know he believe in and I believe in what he's been telling Courtney, and I think the proof will be in the pudding if he decides to stay at Kentucky."

I've been vehemently critical of Mitch Barnhart and UK in the last several years for not having a serious commitment to football

Frankly, the Joker disaster killed my interest in even going to the stadium anymore--last time I went to a game was the victory over UT at Commonwealth

WIth the moves made to keep Vince Marrow, and the precedent that has been set by Mitch Barnhart to do whatever it takes to get us into a competitive position in football, I feel confident for the first time since Fran Curci was here that it can be done at Kentucky.

I'm going out into the yard tonight and am dusting the snow off of the "We Believe" bumper sticker on my truck, and start looking tonight at the CWS ticket website, because I want to be a part of this thing now

Thank you Mitch Barnhart
Thank you Board of Regents
Thank you Mark Stoops, and most of all thank you Vince Marrow

OP: agree with your post, with exception to Mitch's vindication. I think the last 2.5/3 years Stoops has been here, Mitch has shown he is "committed" to improving the football progran.

This is just yet another example of many moves that Mitch has made to benefit football.

I know where you're coming from Sam, I cancelled my season tickets during the Curry years. I was so done with it but came back after he was fired.

That thread is ancient. I'm not sure what Stoops "master plan" is that the OP was speaking of...unless it is to be as bad as Joker with better recruits.
