I mean if we’re being honest we could probably use all 3. I doubt we have a big on the roster after next year besides new commits
Agree! Be a nice little front court if Duke wants to go big. Two guys 7’0 or taller and Kessler is around 7’0 I think.

Going by Rivals rankings. Dickinson is #28 which is just outside of him potentially moving up to a 5 star depending on how much he improves during his senior season and if he moves up and Williams is #51, so he’ll probably still be a 4 star unless he makes a huge jump in the rankings during his senior season. Dickinson and Williams could both potentially be multi year players. So having all 3 of them would be a nice luxury for next season and potentially the next season as well if 1 or 2 of them were to return for their sophomore season (Dickinson and Williams would most likely be the 2 to return). I’d be happy with any combination of the 3 if we can get any of them if not more than one of them.

We better get one of them for sure.

If he played against anyone his size, I think he would struggle.

Somewhere josh Hairston is praying he comes. That way he won’t be the worst scholarship player we’ve ever had

I agree. Not only that, the speed of the game In college is much faster and he seems like he would struggle. He’s slow and stiff, however does have good size for the game. Mark Williams is the one I want, the kid is improving each game and fills the void Duke will need. He’s a defense specialist and blocks shots at a high rate. Also, he runs the floor very well and rebounds well.

Weren't around during the down years I gather.
Oh I was here. Hairston was the worst we’ve ever had EVER

Edit- let me rephrase that do you mean the down yrs pre-3 point line that doesn’t matter or the span from 06-10

The down years Jim is referring to is the early to mid 70's. I'm pretty sure you were not around then because you have shared you age and your pic and I don't even think you were a glint in your daddy's eye then. I was around then and remember some of those players. Believe me they were not as good as Josh. I will not name them because I'm not one to bash our players. They are all Dukies to me and will always be that. As far as Josh goes he knew his role, accepted it, stuck it out for 4 years, got his diploma and is currently playing professional basketball. While playing at Duke I got to know his uncle who was a delivery driver who delivered kitchen counter tops to company I was working for at the time. He told me time and time again Josh knew his role and accepted it. He told me how much he loved Duke and playing for Coach K. Not trying to come down on you pisgah. I like you and you are a good Duke fan and poster but you seem to have a thing about Josh. I could understand if he had been a problem , if he had an attitude or just a cancer but he was not. The percentage of high character, integrity players at Duke is very high and it includes Josh Hairston. He's not p.j. hairston. I know you love Duke just as much as anyone here. I wish somehow you could have known Josh or at least met him. It probably would keep you from referring to him as the worst Duke player you have ever seen. Even the worst Duke player is pretty darn good and I have no idea that the worst Duke player could ever determined. Still love you pisgah. Just had to take up for Josh a true and loyal Dukie. OFC

Sky, I couldn't agree with you more on many things you post. Never met you,but just by reading your post, I know we would get along right off the bat. You just seem like a down to earth guy and Duke fan that don't care to bash any current or former player either. I enjoy reading your post.

From 1972 through 1977 Duke went 76-82, including a four-year span in which Duke went 9-39 in the ACC. Duke went five years without an ACC road win and lost its ACC Tournament opener five straight years.

More recently, Mike Krzyzewski's second and third Duke teams were a combined 21-34.

These teams struggled on merit. Lots of recruited players worse than Josh Hairston.

Speaking of Hairston, he comes back to Duke periodically. He's lost about 30 pounds from his Duke days and his doing well as a wing in Europe, albeit not at the top Euro-league level.

Still, a reasonable case can be made that bulking him up and trying to turn him into a center may not have been the best use of his talents.
