It's pretty amazing what he's been able to do in such a short amount of time.

He goes from a "meh" coach in 2022, to a coach who has won back-to-back titles, to being offered the head job at Kentucky, and now being offered the Lakers job.

Incredible stuff.
You have to wonder did he suddenly figure it out or did he catch lightning in a bottle with the roster a couple of years ago and then convinced them to run it back to win #2.

It's been hilarious watching Rob Dauster make a claim that Hurley always has the option of returning to college if he fails at the Lakers. He even said he could return after the first year.

I know Dauster is a major UConn homer, but doesn't he understand that if Hurley takes the Lakers' job, it's going to be a multiyear locked and sealed contract with an enormous buyout?

If Hurley leaves Storrs, he's not coming back to the college game any time soon, and if/when he does, he won't be returning to UConn.

If Hurley makes this leap, he'll be an NBA guy for the rest of his career.

I'm hoping he goes. I want UConn to die.

Probably a bit of both. His dad was a legendary coach and Danny won NCAA Tourney games at Rhode Island which is no easy feat. He's good but you're also only as good when you have talent. You could be a genius coach but unless you have the horses, you're not doing anything.

It's crazy how it just takes breaking through and then you can live off of reputation for awhile.

Kind of like Donovan’s back to back title teams?
Not saying he’s not a good coach. But it does feel similar
Billy D proved his run wasn’t a fluke though. He had great seasons and many Elite 8’s and a couple additional final fours and one title game appearance beside that. I hope Hurley leaves because he adapted quickly to the new college game and has them rolling. Their style and culture is winning like crazy and he will get the talent now to keep going. Fortunately they don’t have a lot of cash at the school and their NIL isn’t Ohio State level or he would be even more dangerous.

Apparently they cannot die. They just keep winning.. even Ollie got one and he was terrible.

and they cheat every which way to do so. Calhoun was caught cheating big time and players not going to class and didnt even have books, then a few years later Ollie got caught and barred from coaching in the NCAA for a while. Im sure practicing all the time and not having class is yet again what UConn is doing with Hurley, you dont have the offensive playbook and be proficient at it like they were in 1 year like that

The most beautiful state in the country, but heavily taxed and regulated with progressive politics. There is a reason people are living California by the thousands, it’s become unlivable
This. The state is beautiful, with so many treasures.
The people, not so much....

Some of their fans were saying how UK was a cheating bastion. They've been on probation twice since we were last on probation in 1990. Lmfao

I'm with you on this. When Calhoun was at UConn I was of the belief that he ran the sleaziest, dirtiest basketball program in the country. Calhoun was to college basketball what Art Briles was to college football & what Tom Jurich was to alethic directors. There was nothing that these dirtbags wouldn't do to win.
