THE IDIOTS THAT BUY INTO THIS CRAP EVERY YEAR AMUSES ME. Matt Rhule is a legend. Get real. Show me Mr. .500 coach. Show me what a non-fan and hater I am. Lol. Once again, I can't wait for the Iowa accusations and the other ******** I get for telling it like it is. Prove the crap and I will STFU. Guess what? I am still talking after 25 years and will continue to do so until proven otherwise.
Wait.. What is he talking about? 😂

Some of you on here act like we have nothing to be encouraged about.
1. Breaking the 7 year bowl drought and winning.
2. Dylan will make a huge jump in his sophomore season.
3. Mike Ekler is a stud ST coordinator who will add 2 plus wins to our season.
4. Rhule and his year 3 jump at every school he's been at.
5. A favorable schedule
6. An O line and WR room with depth and talent.
I get the fact that we have been beat down after the Frost clown show but those days are over.
The adults are back N charge.
A.D and the coaching staff.
Preach it! Gonna be a great season I think. Can’t wait

Because players and coaches, on every team and in every sport, will always talk themselves up before games actually start. It's what they do to get themselves fired up.

I don't understand why pre-season talk like this even bothers anyone?

You and me both. Would we rather hear them say "I think we are about a 6 win team this year". "We can probably beat the bums outside of Cincinnati on our schedule BUT Michigan, PSU, Iowa, Minnesota and USC are gonna prison rape us".

Seriously I never get it. I'm notba koolade guy and I generally don't buy it. This year isn't any different but I won't piss on their dreams if it's how they feel. Good for them! I hope they feel like they are talking. **** we need some good vibes with all the doom and gloom our fans have developed over the last 15 years or so...

I have a good friend that is an Iowa fan and basically that is how they talk about each upcoming season.

"I mean, if the schedule is easy, maybe we can get 8 wins" and he is cool with it, maybe not cool but okay with it. It is so lame

Be sure you let Rhule and the players know when it's acceptable to be excited, talk positively & confidently to the media and when they shouldn't be doing so.
Talking **** and backing it up on the field are two different things.

I don't need anyone to tell me when I should be positive or not. It's a fricking opinion board, you don't like my comments put me on Ignore, that's what I do.

Those guzzling the kool-aid have every right to hope for a banner season. NU has at least 12 chances this year to let their quality of play speak for itself.

Yes we know you have an Itchy ignore trigger finger. Someone calls you out you throw your typical fit like above then you tuck tail and run to the ignore button.

You think I worry about some asswi*e like you "calling me out?"

I mean no ill will against any kid but I start to feel better about the season the less I hear the names Corcoran, Ives, and Bower. jacob might have some great days a head of himself but we are stacked at LB and id like to go one year without having a walk-on starting at LB. And id love to see Bower cutting his teeth and balling out this year on special teams

To read Rocco is listed as pre-season ALL BIG10 is refreshing, to hear Pritchett and Gottula are locked in a battle is less than refreshing, not that Gottula didn't do a decent job last year. I agree on Corcoran and we'd have to be hopeful that Teddy can last a season. By now we should think Brix, Sledge or Pyle would have made some type of impact.

Looks like 3/5th of the OL could be transfers.

Yes, because you admitted to putting people on ignore. That would be the definition of worrying about being called out.

Not at all. I don't read or watch left wing programs or news media either because their viewpoints are a waste of time. Kinda like a few people on here.

Besides, wtf is the Ignore button on here if not for that reason?

I tell people who I'm gonna put on Ignore for precisely the opposite reason, I don't want them to think I'm hiding from whatever drivel they may address to me. Got it????

I find it stupid to tell players during the preseason to "shut up and prove it on the field" before they can prove it in the field.

I know those quotes weren't your words (they were Chuck's), but you said he wasn't wrong.

I don't believe I told you when to be positive or not. What I did see was YOU agreeing with another poster who was saying players needed to stop talking until they proved their play on the field and then doubling down on other posts.

Also, I don't ignore people solely because I don't like their comments. I've probably ignored 4 people in my 20 years on this board.

I likely use the Ignore button on here more than anyone, and I'll continue to do so.

Since we made the transition to this board and some folks have different names, it's back to the drawing board for me, but I expect to include others in short order.

Some guys rub me the wrong way, and I'm sure it goes both ways, so most of the time I just use the button unless its a worthwhile disagreement.

The current staff is 0-0.
It’s kind of a silly debate in some ways. You and I were so used to Tom downplaying his expectations. He would come across soooo lukewarm about our prospects. He might offer that he thought we might be fairly good. The whole scenario was different. He didn’t have to worry about selling out season tickets or paying for HUGE salaries. Rhule is almost forced to be enthusiastic about the future because our recent past is so depressing.

I get the fool me once attitude. I also get the excitement of a new season, new players, and a willingness to buy the hype. I’m kind of a “I’m very excited to see what it looks like but I’m not buying my B1G championship game tickets just yet”. Age and experience tend to bring steadier analysis. I ALWAYS am excited to see each new season.

Sounds like Pritchett is still not comfortable in a different offense. Star rankings don’t necessarily reveal a kid’s ability to learn a new system. Dana won’t play him if he makes too many mistakes. I think he just needs lots of reps.
