8-4 if colandrea is the starter for each game. Meaning as long as he doesn't get hurt and doesn't turn into a turnover machine
I'm going 8 wins... something actually feels different with this team. May be the Kool-aid, but if the D line holds up, it should be the best team since '16.
An experienced, playmaking and mobile QB. At least 5 WR that can play, actual O line coaching with tackles playing tackle, linebackers with experience & speed, and back end athletes that can cover and hit - not worried about #2 CB.
Better all around coaching and athletes = an ability to compete with anyone.

It's like the 10th season in a row of "who ******' knows?" Maybe this will be the year we start building an identity and consistency... but until then it's a pipe dream to predict what this team will do. Don't interpret this as me being a negative debbie-downer, we just literally don't know. I'll go 7-5 with losses to Oregon, Indiana, OSU, Iowa and one mystery team - because Nebraska always fails to show up at least once a year. Could be any of the B1G games other than Rutgers.
That's 8 losses brother.
4-8 is WAY more possible than people on here think. I’ll say 5-7 with that win @ Rutgers, but hell if the wheels come off that could easily be an L

That's the game I struggled with. I agree, when the wheels fall off, it will get ugly.
Lots of people provided plenty of reasons they could compete with us. I don't think we will lose to Ohio, I have always said it would be a win. We ended year three with three blowout losses, 1-3 against interim coaches, didn't play a good team. So the possibility of the wheels falling off circa 2022 is real.
Your hope is riding on a few new coaches and a qb from a lower division who are going to come in and turn things around immediately in game 1. That being said. I don't see a scenario that we don't win 5 games. I think beating lower division teams, and maryland, michigan state, and rutgers is the lamest most uninteresting season ever. Somebody has to step up remember this is an entertainment industry. It isn't charity.
Just imagine if we had such an amazing team in Rhule's fourth year, after 30 million, with 70 million to go, that we could feel confident to beat..........Illinois. This is probably the biggest indictment of Rhule. He has made the season and the team boring as hell. I said this for four years now. I hope and wish I am wrong. You can go back and check my posts. I hated Rhule from day 1, thought we would suck, we have sucked.

Plus the fact that we have lower level P4 talent, especially on the lines. Our offensive and defensive lineman look like FCS guys lol. They’re both going to get STEAMROLLED by every decent team we play, book it.
6-6 is my optimistic prediction. We probably win one we shouldn’t…

Real Midgets:Potato Head Rhule
- Left Tackle (Elijah Pritchett): 6'6”, 330 pounds
- Left Guard (Paul Mubenga): 6'5”, 320 pounds
- Center (Justin Evans): 6'2”, 315 pounds
- Right Guard (Brendan Black): 6'4”, 325 pounds
- Right Tackle (Tree Babalade): 6'5”, 340 pounds
We still win 6 games in that scenario. I think that might be the most defeating thing...at our best, with the qb healthy, everybody healthy we are only as good as Maryland and Rutgers. The last time we were in the Iowa tier of the conference our current freshman class was 7. Scott would get us 5, Rhule will get us 6, Bo would have got us 9...but we would have been steamrolled by 3-4 teams on this schedule in any season since 2001.Potato Head Rhule
Literally none of this is proven. The playmaking wasn't there in the last part of the season last year...Emmitt was most of our offense and he is gone. Qb will have to prove it against big 10 opponents on the road without running 20x a game, without an experienced or decent rb. What will happen is Colandrea will look decent running against the "scrimmage" teams. He will go to MSU, who normally has at least a physical defense and get walloped, at best they will stop running him, at worst he will get hurt. It is hard to imagine us losing to MSU but Rhule has laid a lot of eggs on the road. If we lose to MSU we won't make a bowl.
The problem with the Rutgers game is its placement within the schedule. If we can’t beat Washington or Illinois, then we would likely be entering that game on a 4 game losing streak, going on the road, and realizing that bowl game depends on the Rutgers outcome.
I think a lot hinges on whether we can beat either Washington or Illinois. And if we can beat both Maryland and MSU. If neither of those happen, I could see us losing to Rutgers on hopelessness and finishing 4-8. If both of those things happen, then good shot at 8-4 or even 9-3.
Compared to Macho’s weight I could see why he would say that.
