I know they're are good and bad employees in every company, despite how hard a company may work to hire, train and retain good people.

That said, every single time I've needed HVAC work of any kind, everyone from Bryant has been awesome. They know their ****, they're professional, and they didn't try to upsell me on something I didn't need for my house. I had a bunch of problems with my A/C last summer and the tech working with me tried every possible fix he could think of to save the unit. He would stop by quickly between calls or on weekends just to check on the unit- without charging me. He gave me his cell # and told me to call him any time it had problems and tell him what was going on. When the A/C finally bit it for good, I worked with him and Anthony to figure out what would work best for my house. They gave me a price and I paid it. Had a new unit it that same day. It was as helpful and painless of a process as repairing an A/C could be. And yeah, it set me back a bit, but I know that I've got a good unit that should last me a very long time.

I'm not saying any of this because I know Anthony. If his guys sucked or screwed something up, I would tell him so he could fix it, and I just wouldn't chime in to this thread. But if people are going to vaguely talk **** about his company because they have some sort of axe to grind, I'm going to give the other side of the story.

I was going to look at Yelp. But then I said, "nahh". I don't trust a business that spells Murray as Murry. Too close to Bill Curry for me. I'd stick with Anthony, that is a more honest name.

Meh, leave his yelp alone. That's not funny. I've known who it was since his first veiled shots at me a couple years back. I've been on dealer trips with him and like I said I even suggested bristol use his company for installation as I couldn't match the price. My only beef was him following me around this thread anonymously making veiled comments like a creep. I'm as transparent about my business as can be because obviously I have lots of clients from this forum and I have nothing to hide. We're as in your face as a company can be. That has a lot of positives and a few negatives.

Wow.....this same dude tried talking me out of using Anth 4 years ago when I bought mine.

Pretty stupid really since Anth offered me a unit he knew was more than I had been quoted(because of a family discount) and even told me to buy it from my family and let Bryant service it.

That's honesty you don't get everywhere. Bryant's service has been great as well.

Losers lose, it's what they are best at. Cantstandthecards, grow up!

Since this thread is here, I'll ask my problem. . .

My AC keeps freezing up. It has a clean filter and is getting good air flow. Had my tech come over and check coolant and it's fine too. He thinks it's the inside fan's motor? He ordered one, not sure when it'll be in. It's going to be 90 here tomorrow and close to 100 by the weekend. Just want to make sure he's not full of ****.

How old is unit? Could have expansion valve at indoor coil not metering properly. If blower motor is running why would he replace the motor. If filter is clean has good airflow and indoor coil is clean? I would start with TXV valve.

I have no reason to lie to you. I asked about a Unit because I had central air and cable heat, and Anth tried to help me on here and you posted a lot of implied things about Bryant and said to be careful who I buy from.....on here. That thread went much the same as this one where you were called out.

Anth took the conversation to email and spent 2 days helping me for free and ended up not selling a thing to me but helped me make a good decision.

I just felt you need to know since you are in business that people do remember these things. You didn't come out and directly say anything but it was clearly implied and my experience was the exact opposite.

Put new outside ductwork in our home a year or two ago. Anth gave me his email address and personally emailed me multiple times to help figure out the best solution as I had never done it before myself. I live in Florida, he knew he wasn't getting even a service call from me to make it worth his time but he still helped me out. That's good business right there. My grandmother and mother have both had Bryant service their houses since then because of my recommendation. If I move back to Kentucky, there would only be one call for HVAC devices.

So this thread blew up. Ended up going through home warranty so we'll see. Had a swimming pool in the garage after just turning the sucker off.

Thanks, I'm having the same problem. My unit is a thermal zone that's around 3-4 years old. The defrost control board has a red led that blinks twice then pauses. Looking through all the information that came with the unit doesn't show the error codes from the led.

The unit did the same thing last year and a tech come out and turned the heat on for a couple minutes and the AC started working. That's not working this time.

Have him check the TXV

Since this has continued, I'll pitch in with another question:
House is 20 years old but has held up very well. Had two large water heaters that both started giving us trouble a couple of years ago and we replaced them with a tankless system. So far so good. But what is the lifecycle for tankless water heaters and are they prone to needing repairs/replacement, last better/less than tanks?

TIA.

I have no idea about plumbing, we recently asked our Plumber(Danhauer), and he said stay away. Probably something google could help with.

I asked that same question to our plumber as well. He said, if you have a home that doesn't get used much (vacation home), tankless might be a good option. He did not recommend it for typical usage.

Unit is less than two years old, but went with a Goodman. Obviously, you get what you pay for. The fan will run outside and I'll get good cold air flow for a day or so, then it freezes up. When I turn the fan on, I get nothing. So I can't even run the fan to defrost the coils.

Again, the outside fan is running, so he thinks the blower motor is out (or something like that)? It's a gas pack unit. I have never had one before, but it's been a pain in the *** from day 1.

If the blower motor is intermittent it could

Blower motor could be getting hot and shutting off until it cools down.
I don't think its motor. Being that its a goodman I would check out blower circuit board first, this could be a intermittent thing going on with board. Probably a bad soder joint getting hot and breaking down.

From what I know he is better at working on HVAC systems than quoting message boards.

To summarize: "He thinks it's possibly the motor being intermittent which could be caused by the circuit board being faulty."

That is true of electric tank less water heaters. Gas ones are much more effecient and the quality is getting better every year. I have a 5 year old unit that I've not had one issue with, saved a ton of money on gas bills, and never run out of hot water no matter how long my shower or if the dishwasher and washing nachine were both going.
