See ya. Per the CJ (and my wife). Let’s see where she goes and how much money she is getting. I lean UConn or Stanford w/o doing any research.

CJ article says she already has a spot...due to the fact that she asked not to be contacted. I don't mind if it's UW...where she is from. But whomever it is, they have a big time donar the billions willing to pay her. I don't think it's Stanford or UConn...their rosters ate already full. It's not South Carolina either. Think West Coast like UCLA or USC... She blond, she white, she has doll face, so there is premium on that (come on the Kavanaugh twins are not elite players and Miami pays them millions). It's one of the reasons why she has such a strong social media presence.

If you have NIL presence... companies will target you. We should not have EVER have ticked off Papa Johns...lol... Terrible timing for him to get cancelled...should never use the "N" word in a board meeting...

College sports has been ruined, follow the money
Football is the only collegiate sport worth a damn anymore. Due to such large rosters, there's plenty of room for star players to come and go.

Basketball is being ruined right in front of our eyes. If a star player for three seasons who went to three elite 8's and a final 4, transfers for their senior season, no star player is safe.

HVL has free reign on the court from Coach Walz. I believe she wants to go home. That homecoming during the tournament probably sealed the deal.

See ya Haley. It was good while it lasted. I wonder if we Cards fans will be saying the same thing soon with Coach Walz?

I hate hearing this but she’s not bigger than the program. I think she went somewhere that paid her a lot of money and has a chance to win a title.

If she is transferring to Washington to be closer to home it would be a bad move in regards to exposure. Nobody east of the Mississippi watches PAC12 sports do to the time zone difference.

Guys I put this on another thread, but I’m done with college BB, both mens and WBB. I’ve been hanging on by a thread, didn’t think the portal and NIL would effect WBB like mens, boy was I wrong. So I’m canceling my season tickets Monday. I’m not going to be a part of this **** show anymore.
I plan on keeping my FB tickets for this season and see how it goes, but I can see me pulling the plug on that too. NIL and the portal will kill college sports

women can make more money playing college bball via NIL than they can make in the WNBA, this is their opportunity to make the most money they can as they'll actually get paid less when they graduate. basically, every college player no matter the sport should consider themselves 1 year contract players. play then renegotiate. some will make it work others will not. but the simple fact that you can make more money if you do means every one of us in the same position would also be looking for the msot money. and you're lying to yourself if you say you'd stay for less. a 19 year old kid being offered millions doesn't turn it down. btw, i think junior bridgeman is worth more than pj. $650mil vs $400 mil

I agree I will watch every now and then but not like I used to. I didn’t watch any men’s basketball at all last year and I doubt I will watch any next year. I was born and raised a Louisville fan but they have ruined the game and I have lost interest. If you are a good team with good players and you don’t have a money guy behind you good luck because you are going to be raided.

Good for Junior Bridgeman but he doesn’t fit your argument he was a 4 year player who didn’t make his money until after a 4 year career Louisville.

U missed the point sir. I referenced Papa John as someone who would willing spend NIL money to draw athletes. He was saying the Junuir Bridgemen's monetary portfolio has more money than Papa John's. So we should be able to draw and keep top college athletes...with his help alone. But see it's a symbiotic relationship. Companies, through NIL, purchase players loyalty for a face on their products (like Bryce Young for those Dr Pepper commercials). The players bring fans and customers to the Companies...due to their playing for the schools. The schools in turn, get a top athlete. Where ever HVL goes...she could get 2 years, with her COVID extra year.

IMO, Neither of those coaches will give her the offensive freedom she had here. That is the reason she said she came to Louisville.

Page Bueckers and Azzi Fudd had plenty of freedom. Thing is that they are both coming back...so where on earth does that leave her. Stanford is an academic school. Not saying HVL is incapable...but I don't hear a lot of NIL hype from those Academic schools...

Everyone’s assuming this about money. HVL is make really good money, I heard this about winning a NC. There’s slim chance of that occurring here next year. So, Stanford might be a much better option closer to home.

I think Stanford is in better shape than we are but they are losing some of their top players as well. Then you have Lauren Betts transferring out and Stanford struggled the last month of the season. So once again they are in better shape than us but they aren’t a National contender next year.

Don’t care about hat her reason to is. She’s not a UoL player any more and I hope she scores less than 5 points next year (not wanting her to get hurt or anything).

One thing everyone has to remember is that all the top players have agents. Those agents get a percentage of their deals so they are always looking. I think is really going to have to go all out to stop the bleeding here. To me in order for him to bring excitement back to the Louisville fans he is going to have to get the 3 local girls everyone is talking about.

Trending. She may end up at Iowa as the SG and Clark as the PG. She wants a NC. Will see if that’s true

Who in men's or women's basketball has transferred to win a national championship the next year and actually achieved that goal?

College basketball’s top programs will survive and thrive. U of L basketball may not because we’re no longer part of that top group.

You have to know what you’re doing running a major athletic department. That’s not us, not anymore…

I could see her at Iowa but not anywhere in the SEC and her and Clark know each other from the USA teams.
Iowa I agree on. She and Caityn may be just what each other needs to get over the hump. IDK about SEC. I could see her playing for LSU and the Wicked Witch of the East if she truly wants a NC.

She's not going to get a big NIL deal. Struggles handling the ball.

Good luck to her. Hate to see her go, but the system is there to be fully taken advantage of. It’s the system afoul here, not HVL.

Why don't we wait until we hear where she is going. She makes a lot of money here now. It's clear she wants to win a NC, she's that passionate, but as we saw she is very close to her family. Two things I think we are missing, I heard she will graduate this May in 3 years. Thats a pretty nice accomplishment with the rigors of playing basketball. Also, doesn't she have a lucrative Adidas deal? Can't see her breaking that but I'm not a business man. I wish her well. I loved watching her play as a U of L Cardinal. She lost 6 of her teammates and we don't have any signees coming in besides two grad transfers. Looks like it would have taken quite a bit for us to contend next year.

She had a 1 million dollar deal with Adidas, Dick’s Sporting Goods and JC Penney. She also makes over $44,000 a year from social media. I don’t think it is about money I think It is more about trying to win a title. Right now we are in a complete rebuild situation.
I saw where the remaining players are still confident and looking forward to next year. CJW needs to work really hard and get some talent in here and also lock down the 3 locals next year that everyone has been talking about. The fans will really get behind the local kids in a big way.

Hancock transferred to Louisville which had hired his former Hargrave coach Kevin Keatts as an assistant and did not play in 2011–12 after transferring. Hancock did not transfer with the expressed purpose of winning a national championship as HVL supposedly wants to do if true.
Well come on now. Hancock had to sit out, HVL doesn't. Luke has said many a time that he wanted to win a title and chose Louisville for that over following Keats.

Its a close as it gets when you have to sit out a season.

It's not the same as picking the team that the transferring athlete thinks will win the NCAA the next year.

I just don't get what is different about it. Luke Hancock has said on the radio that when he decided he was going to transfer from George Mason, he didn't choose Miami and follow his coach but chose Louisville because they were poised to win the national championship. He said he wanted to fill Kyle Kuric's role as he watched the 2012 final 4 Cards team.

If he didn't have to sit out a year, he would have been on that 2012 team. So to me, he transferred expecting to win a national championship and he was successful. It was just 2013 instead.
