What do you all think if UK drops one of the MISS ST or MIZZ games can UK pick up one of those L's on an upset of UGA. Can we stop or even contain Chubb if it comes to that situation . Hope to make Eason beat us? Is the UGA game going to be a must win to get to bowl.I do not yet believe we can beat TENN or UL. We must get 2 of those 3 obviously AUSTIN PEAY is a must!!. I think we beat MISS St but just have bad gut feeling on the road at MIZZ. Im thinking the UGA game at home might be biggest game in Stoops career here at UK. Was just looking at schedule and want to get dome thoughts.

We aren't very good, Eason was awful at USC Sunday, don't think he can play much worse. But our OL is improving on run blocking, pass blocking is still a work in progress. Eason is about as inconsistent as one can get, but he has led us to a game winning drive and a take the lead drive with 10 sec left in the 2 min drills, but it comes down to stopping the run you beat us, if you can't we control time and the clock. Kirby has forced the OL to get more physical by turning our pratices into what the guys call bloody Tue and Wed, where half of it is spent with 3 DL and 1 LB go head to head against 3 OL and 1 RB, 1's against 1's and we have been against UT and USC. But we are far from a good team, not getting much out of our WR, too many drops.

Yeah if it comes down to UK needing to beat UGA to get our 6 W. I think just on talent alone I do not like our chances and we will have to sell out on your alls running game hoping Eason makes some mistakes. Hopefully we get W'S vs MISS ST AND @ Mizz. I do not want to be in situation where UGA becomes a must win.

These next two are win or bust,the thing is we can win these two but we have to play mistake free particularly at Mizzou.

I think we can get Miss St if we don't beat ourselves,we won't have many games with things more in our favor than the way this one sets up.

Stoops teams have not fared well against talented opponents in the 2nd half of seasons. Maybe this year is different, but the Florida game gives me doubts. If we lose to State or Mizz it will be interesting to see if the team lays down like they have in the past. I think the UGA and UT games will actually tell us more about where the program stands than the State and Mizz games.

After watching the FLA game, I was just hoping we would cancel the rest of the away games and stay home. But even though Bama killed us somewhat, I never got the feeling that the team quit like they did at FLA. Maybe this team is growing up before our eyes and if they are, maybe they can shake off the away jitters and play a good game against MO. The key is we CAN"T make a turnover early in the game to give MO the MOmentum.

Hopefully the trend changes and atleast get the Miss st, Mizz, Austin Peay W's. Then show some ability to compete with UGA and UT.

Here is what some of the "Power Polls" project as future UK spreads...

Bill Connolly: Note: These are spread prediction so I assume home field advantage is included
MSU +9
@MO +12
GA +7
@TN +22
AP -23
@UofL +30

ESPN Power Ratings: Note: I have added 3 points home advantage to neutral ratings
MSU +4.5
@MO +11.8
GA +7.7
@TN +23.2
AP Not Ranked (FCS)
@UofL +31.3

Sagarin: Note: I have used Predictor numbers with a 2.45 home advantage
MSU +3.8
@MO +8.0
GA +5.4
@TN +21.1
AP -45.1
@UofL +27.4

Fairly consistent (within 3 points) on every game except MSU where Connolly sees a bigger spread than the others. While it doesn't work its' way into "the numbers", MSU will be coming off what will likely be a tough game this weekend. It might make a difference whether MSU shows up as a 2-4 team or a 3-3 team.

FWIW, my main man, Phil Steel, apparently now sells all of his in season Power Rankings (he used to provide a couple of in season updates for free).

Peace

Cats are avg. 12.5ppg in SEC play...two of the games against pathetic teams.

The Miss St. game will be similar to Vandy...less mistakes between 2 poor teams wins. Mizz on the road will be unlikely, and UGA will be highly unlikely. Tenn and the Cards win in landslides.

5-7 is best case, and 4-8 if they lose next week.

Since we are being hypothetical, If they somehow beat State, Missouri and GA we could be playing UT to win the East if Florida drops 2 and Bama beats TN.

Unreasonable yes, but also possible!
