His name is Chazz Surratt of East Lincoln who will soon be a UNC Tarheel. The Independence Chris Leak record of TD responsibility will fall next week. This young man is set to repeat as North Carolina Athlete of the Year again.

I think Charles Briggs (Lincolnton '94) was a better overall athlete, but Chazz is the best football player Lincoln County has ever seen. And playing QB makes it a lot easier to stand out and be more impactful. Just my opinion.

Agree with LTown Wolves. I believe in one recruiting publication for football Charles Briggs was rated the number two athlete (they didnt give him a position) in all of high school football for that year. I have only seen Chazz Surratt play once live in his career and it was his freshman year. I was like this kid is going to be very special.

It's the intelligence factor. Some have great wheels, some great arms, some physical power but rare do they have these and the inttelligence. Surratt is a Surgeon. He dissects defenses.

I have to say GDG,I agree...he is the smartest player I have seen and if you add him to a middle of the road team,they would probably be undefeated right now...and a mediocre team would probably be playoff bound next week...man,6 days to go until the game of western Carolina,,are you going GDG?...

I agree with everything you said. He makes everyone around him play better. Yes sir I will be going for sure.
