The OP has a point about players. No one should be on a message board telling an 18-22 yo college kid "he sucks" or is a "lazy POS"
However, when you sign that letter of intent to play at a big time school, especially one that thousands of people watch, you need to realize that your play will be scrutinized. I find zero wrong with saying "Edwards is out of position" "Love takes poor angles" "Barker seems to lack confidence" etc. That comes with the territory. If you don't like it, transfer to Murry State.
Also, a coaching staff is fair game. They get paid thousands/millions of $$ to COACH. If they aren't performing up to expectations, that's on them. Part of their job is to make the fans, that help pay for their salaries BTW, happy and in their corner. Hell, as a former HS coach I know certain people are going to complain - that's part of the job.
Our school and Adm have historically given the UK football fans very little support. To call out our fans for not being loyal or "team players" is completely off base. Look how many of us spend time on these boards, simply because we are passionate about the program. I firmly believe that we CAN have a strong football program at UK - and I truly hope the current regime can take us there. However, he needs to turn things around, and quickly at that. Unfortunately, Stoops has shown little to give most of us confidence that he can do it, and being less critical of him on a message board should be the least of his, or our worries.

I totally disagree with you. I too wIl be there on sat and at EVERY game the rest of the season, but I have şeen enough to see that Stoops is in way over his head as a HC and I don't understand those that are screaming for more time. This is his first graduating class and things should be much further along in the process, but sadly they are not and as a matter of fact they seem to be getting much worse and MS has gone into survival mode with the coaching staff shakeups. I actually feel sorry for the players. I'm sorry , but if this season isn't turned around in the next five weeks , at season's end it's time to make a change.

I haven't given up on Stoops or the players, but they have a lot to prove that they can't get the job done.
In this instance, it is MOST DEFINITELY Coach Stoops' fault.
He has had MORE support than ANY other former football coach.
When you FIRE your OC and he returns with a directional school and OUT-COACHES you by making the correct adjustments and you WILT, that is on Stoops.
This is HIS program, HIS coaches, HIS players!

Although 18-22 yr. old kids, the players deserve to be scrutinized as well; just not as much as the coaches. I expect most of you are from KY and our taxes help fund the school these kids are attending and their scholarships. Technically they are being paid by the state of Kentucky, via scholarship, to provide entertainment for us fans.
My perception it was charitable fundraising. Probably not a waste of the poster's money.
So he talks the talk at the dinner table but doesn't walk the walj on the field. The guy didn't change his play calling signals and Dawson ripped him for it. I don't care how much money you spent on a dinner, this is the SEC and that's bushleague. It doesn't make you an insider it just makes you less able to see clearly and more reticent to call the staff on 4 years of blatant gaffes. I can only assume you didn't make your living that afforded you those expensive dinner bids running a business .
Don't doubt at all that he's an extraordinarily hard worker and that he wants to win as bad as anyone. And we all wsnt him to win. It just hasn't happened. Even worse, there's been historic level collapses at various points in seasons and games. This, to me, displays a lack of mental fortitude in the players. That's a process. One that he's not been successful with.
I do agree we all need to get behind him. He's going to be here, whether someone likes it or not. So we may as well support him and the team. This is especially true because of their apparent lack of mental toughness.
When the product on the field improves so will my attitude. So far they have given me no reason to think the season is salvageable. Stoops and company have been outcoached and outplayed. Frankly I could give a rats *** if he is nice or not, win games and know one will care. Saban is a complete jerk, cocky and narcissitic most great coaches are. But heyours is a nice guy and fun to have dinner with.:angry:
I would understand. If I wasn't so sick of sucking and always rooting for a loser. Stoops is a terrible coach. I don't care how many dinners you've had with the man. I don't care how good the man is as a person. All I want to see is us to win some football games. And if having a coach who is stealing money, but at the same time is a good person, if that fits the criteria for you and is good enough to you for him to remain here. Then people like you are the reasons our university is so content with a losing, laughing stock of a football program. I'm sorry but being a nice person isn't a good enough reason to be a head coach. Winning has to account for something at some point. Joker Phillips was also by all accounts an amazing person who has done way more for the university than stoops has. Yet was chased out of town by an angry mob with pitchforks. Yet we need to keep stoops after sucking for 4 years when in phillips 3 years he at least reached a bowl game?

It's apparently ok for Mark stoops to be a terrible head coach with not a single damn clue on how to lead a team, but it's not ok for Phillips? Why? Because he's black? Stoops was upset the first half of the USM game because we were scoring too fast? He micromanages way too much and needs to learn how to do his own job before telling others how to do their's. But when you're getting paid the big bucks you need to give back results. And I've seen none. We need a real coach who can actually coach this 'talent' before the talent is all gone and it's too late.

We've sucked the entire time he's been here man. It's year 4. And everything I said about stoops this offseason was proven to be true. Our team is unprepared, our team plays with zero heart, they have zero fight in them, they look lost on many plays, we never make adjustments. I'm sorry but if you're blaming youth for the USM debacle, then you're even more clueless than stoops and that's saying a lot.

Joker Phillips got fired after 3 years of sucking. This is currently stoops 4th year of sucking. And he'll most likely get a FIFTH! And you believe there's no difference in stoops treatment and Phillips?

Is Stoops currently accused of a very public affair with a local reporter?
Did CMS inherit a team that had been to 4 straight bowl games?
Did CMS go from 5-7 to 2-10 or the other way around?

What has that done for stoops? What did that do for Brooks? And to answer your question about stoops going from 2-10 to 5-7. Let's see where we are at at the end of season. 3-9 is a very REAL possibility. What were stoops resources in comparison to Phillips in what he had to recruit with? Please compare them. Give Brooks or Phillips or any previous coach these resources and I guarantee you no matter who the coach the recruiting rankings will rise astronomically. Did you see what Brooks had as a recruiting room? It was some tables and metal chairs. See what stoops has? It's a state of the art facility. Sorry. But stoops hasn't proven any better than Phillips. In fact I would argue that if phillips had the same resources as stoops, then we would be in better shape than we are now. In fact Brooks would've stayed a lot longer had we kept our promises to him. And Phillips would've had a much better situation to work with.
How inept I am? I got blasted for all my naysaying towards stoops during the offseason. About how he's the worst at game management. That his team's look completely unprepared and lost. I said he was a garbage in game coach, I said he was pathetic at game preperation. I said he was woeful at pretty much every aspect of the game. I got blasted for it all offseason about how dumb and inept I was. Think you need to direct your inept talk towards all the sunshine pumpers who name called me in the offseason. And for what? For always being right? Pffft get out of here poe you were probably one of those calling me names for calling stoops out on what he sucked with.. Which was everything. He sucks at everything but recruiting. Which accounts for nothing when you suck at everything.
I know 1 major factor wrong with our team this year. There isnt enough of Joker's players to carry Stoops and the team to 5 wins. (only like 1 or 2 left on the team if that)

I agree but this game isn't going to show me much. If we win and don't play well it will show a lot in the wrong direction. If we dominate and play well? Then there may be a team out there worse than us.
