I have tried to support this staff believing better days are ahead.

I am done, I cancelled my Inner Circle donations.

Going to give to another program.

The team seems to have quit under his leadership. He should shake things up and resign and turn it over temporarily to someone other than anyone on this staff.
He has had great teams but they keep underperforming.

it’s time to get a new staff and let go of the past.

Tom will always be one of the greats, but he is approaching 60

I'm keeping my donations going through the end of the year, but if we don't have a new HC and staff in place come the Fall I'm following suit. Love what we saw out of SB, Lee and ADS the other day, but even then this program is a shell of what it used to be and keeps ticking in a downward trend. We needed to get at least a mdec in the last match to beat the 15th ranked team...IN CHA!! That about says it all...

Yep, I have spilt my donations between UNI and Iowa.

been a Hawkeye fan since 74 and a graduate from UNI.

There will be gaggles of people that slip in and replace my 1200 bucks. UNI gets far less support.

No, UNI willl never be at the same level as Iowa but as a season ticket holder I can tell you they are a thousand times more offensive than Iowa.

They aren’t as good, so they don’t score on their shots as often but they make more effort.

As a fan, that’s all I ask for is for attempts!
The 125/133 matches with PSU and OSU both were 1-1 or matches, but were exciting to watch.

exciting is not a word to describe this Iowa team. A couple guys do rise each meet, but on the whole it’s pretty blah.

Michigan had TDs in the last 30 seconds of the 3rd period in all their wins (141, 149, 157, 174 and Hwt). A perfect illustration of what many on here have been complaining about.
And that's exactly what's going to happen at NCAAs...we're going to f*ck around until the 3rd and then lose. I mean why in the f*ck aren't we attacking in the first two periods...and by attacking I mean more than the hopeful one TD.

Saddest part is Carver was dead tonight.

6-7,000 fans maybe. It’s turning into a lifeless place, and everybody knows it.
When we had bad matches and moments yes it was dead and people were distraught, especially when Kennedy pissed it down his leg.
Not completely though. The place came alive for our guys that won. Cali had to the fans pumped, because everyone them was shell shocked by them. The crowd got behind Gabe in the OT, Ludington when he won (first time in CHA)?, Dean Peterson and Drake as well.
I saw the roof rattle a couple times but a far cry from just last year.

Because we plod straight forward with collar ties and our opponents stiff arm out and shoot when they separate. Or, when we shoot we get flattened out or are satisfied with trying to get a stalemate. A lot of guys don’t even move their feet🤷🏼‍♂️

That was such a frustrating 2 hours. And what really pissed me off was that even though tOSU got their asses kicked by PSU they at least went out there and battled...for the most part. Aside from Mikey (God I'm going to miss that guy) and Drake we did a whole lot of nothing. And yes, I'm happy Harvey and Gabe won, but the same way they won is also exaclty how they lsot in previous matches this year...and will continue to lsoe in the futue. No f'cking offense...and then lose in the 3rd or SV!!

I feel your pain brother. Kennedy absolutely has to have a TD in the first 3 minutes or he’s in deep water.

Give to whomever you want. Its your money. I give to smaller programs occassionally. Iowa doesn't have a lack of support issue.

Never thought I’d see the day the Iowa football team is more offensive than the wrestling team.
and for the record, I don’t blame the wrestlers at all. This is completely on the coaching staff. Sucks seeing guys get roasted on here, this is essentially the same thing we’ve watched for numerous years now.

I’m likely dropping my season tix.
I’m just a fan (not a donor) so they won’t miss my two tickets (they may if a couple thousand do).
I’ve always been a bball fan (but got Fran fatigue like everyone else) and then after the grapple and moving here we started to attend more duals.
We’re switching over to basketball next season.

How can wrestling continue to raise ticket prices and roll out that product for the fans?
Sad. There’s nothing like Carver when Iowa wrestling is rolling (Kemerer ‘20, Angelo ‘25) and nothing came close to that this year.
Thanks for listening!

Season tix are down 3k from 2 years ago, 2k from last year.. athletics is noticing, they were calling people last year individually asking why they didn't renew. Beth has been at multiple duals this year, I don't know if she was there last night,- I didn't go, wife and her coworkers used our tickets and I didn't feel like taking the offices, which no one has used all season - but she has seen the drops in attendance for top name programs and rivals. so yeah, your two tickets will add to that and will be felt.

I dropped my tickets after last season and I gotta say I’m very thankful that I wasn’t making the drive from Des Moines this season to watch this style of wrestling AGAIN. Had tickets for over 25 years and still watch on tv but find myself fast forwarding through most of the dual.

They’re going to have to drag tom out of the facility he won’t go quietly. You think Fran threw a fit oh boy.
Did Fran throw a fit? Honest question as I only remember that he was basically a statue the last 2 years on the sidelines, got ejected in his last game, got canned and then went on a few radio shows and basically never mention Iowa.
We'll see what Tom does. If he's gone or makes changes lets hope he's professional about it.

Ok you’re right a fit is a little over the top. He had a really arrogant interview somewhere after he left just talking about how good he did at Iowa and questioned the move. Sorry, I’m not a Fran guy either. lol

Was at the psu/osu match last night and those were all very exciting including 184 and 285. Close matches but everyone was on the edge of seat the whole time.

Yep, I saw no quit it most of the OSU guys. Obviously a few were overmatched, but they did do their best. I was really surprised that 197 that Barr did not get a tech fall but the OSU guy just kept plugging away.
In the 4 or matches purchase the osu guys were trying from the start .

We do the same thing defensively. Most of the team has zero short offense at this point. We stuff someone on their shot, get into front headlock situation and just hang out waiting for stalemate instead of turning it into points. It boggles the mind. Zero chain wrestling.
I am getting to the apathy stage. I have had season tickets for a long time and have never missed as many duals. Granted I have kids in activities on Friday nights but I also just dont enjoy watching them as much. I vote for a change for sure.

I will say, please stop posting attacks on wrestlers. We have no idea what they have going on behind the scenes. Injuries, illness, weight cutting, school, personal, etc all come into play. Plus families and recruits read these and it does no good.

John Smith set a good example. Let’s hope he follows his path.

Tom’s had his time. I would like to see Terry have his leading the HWC. He still has a lot to offer. The older, mature, proven guys like Lee, Desanto, Buchanan respond to him. His style translates well to the freestyle game.

Hiring JB to take over the program, I could see him trying to make that happen. There’s mutual respect there.

What is he going to do? Get violent?, bad mouth Iowa? That would be a shame, I think it would be in everybody's best interest if he stepped down gracefully and moved on to coach the HWC or something like that.

It always circles back to the replacement. No way this should be done until the heir apparent is locked up.

Fran's teams were exciting though. They scored a ton of points, just didn't bother to play Defense. 😡

But those of us in the real world don't get fat stacks of cash on our way out the door after being canned. So they got that going for them. 🙂

Just like b-ball last year apathy has set in for a large portion of fans and once it sets in it’s tough to overcome. And next year doesn’t give too many fans the confidence things will change. Ferentz always seemed to pull that season a great off when venturing towards that.

Problem is lot of donors weren’t willing to give anymore if Fran stayed and just like wrestling next year there was little to no confidence Iowa b-ball would’ve improved if Fran stayed. We’ve seen results with better coach who has put better results on the floor and atmosphere at carver. Obviously wrestling higher standards but no excuse for the brands with a crowd like last night especially since all our meets are Friday-Sunday. Not like we are wrestling Purdue on a Tuesday then maybe make that excuse.
