He only averaged 7 minutes a game during his season with Kentucky. (Thought it was even less)
Scored 13 off the bench in a blowout win @ Vandy. (Recalled him playing very well against someone and had to look it up)
He was actually one guy I wanted Pope to try to retain. Good size and athleticism. Strong motor.

Played on the last Cal team with Reed and Dilly et al. Never got a lot of opportunities but always played hard and with great energy when he did. Wonder how he could have developed had he gotten the same leash as Justin Edwards (or how that team would have done if Edwards got the leash that Burks did).
I remember Justin Edwards. He was the guy that got his shot blocked by the rim trying to dunk the ball multiple times.
Yeah, I wish we had been able to keep Burks too. He was one of Cal's lesser rated recruits but really wanted to play for him at Kentucky. He wasn't as highly rated, but if I remember correctly was one of the top scorers in the EYBL. Never got much playing time here, but had a good motor when he did see the floor. He is playing really well on both sides of the ball for UCF. Wonder if we would ever recruit him to come back?
Seem to recall Burks doing some good for the Lexington community with a bit of his NIL, IIRC. Might have been a backpack for kids thing but I remember liking him for some reason.
Wasn't he also the one who had to be in front of the 3 pt line in order to release the ball?
That’s because idiot Cal rarely played him.
If it makes you feel better, someone mentioned him a couple months ago and I had to look him up our old rosters. So many of Cal's teams are just a blur at this point.
Stop it. He wasn’t good enough to get consistent minutes as a freshman at UK. In his sophomore season he averaged under 6 points on a bad Georgetown team.

Yes, but that typically takes multiple years for a lot of guys. Coming out of high school he wasn’t even ranked top 100 of any recruiting outlets.
