I heard him say on the Dan Patrick Show that he loves to come to Kentucky to fish..He is an avid muskie fisherman, and one of his favorite lakes was Cave Run Lake....This is near the Mountain Parkway, and I pass it often on my way to Pikeville...He sounded like a pretty nice guy on the show, but he did display how he stomped Aminu Timberlake
He said he done it because he thought Timberlake shoved him under the basket, but it was actually Pelphrey or Feldhaus....:))

Never hated him just thought he was a punk. The refs in that game were just pathetic. He should have been ejected whether he was playing a peewee game or an NCAA tournament game.

Hate is probably a strong word, and strongly dislike may be better.

I hate the game, the moment, the shot, etc. I was 13 and really just getting into everything Kentucky Basketball, at least to the point I understood everything happening. The Shot crushed me.

Of course over the years I've gotten over it (really when we beat Duke in 1998), but it is hard to truly get over and forget about it when they shot it EVERY FREAKIN' YEAR.

I wish the Gordon Haywood shot would have gone in during the 2010 Final Four, and maybe they would show that and forget about Laettner (or at least Duke fans would have known how we felt).

Finally I guess I hate fake Duke fans. And by that I mean kids born in Kentucky who have no connection to Duke but pick them as their team. What is that all about.

After he did that charity game here, and the way he has talked about Cal and UK, I def don't hate him. Dude was a great player. That phoney K on the other hand...

That game ripped my 11 year old heart out of my chest, I'm talking loud sobbing - from my entire household. Young me did hate him for many years.

However, as an adult, I can say it was a great shot made to win a great game where two teams gave it all they had and then some. The only thing I hate now is seeing the shot so much.

I don't know if you all know but Pitino tried to recruit Laettner to Kentucky.

Soooo friggin' close!!! Would've been some real Karma, there. Plus, K had his player intentionally miss the last free throw in order to start the clock immediately... so his coaching decision would've been debated endlessly like the Pitino-should've-had-a-man-on-inbounds play has been.

They have even used that shot (without really showing that it didn't go in) in some promos.
