He won't be at Clemson after this year. Rumor is they're working on his "amicable separation" as I type this. That Duke loss was worse than expected.....

Say what you will:
1) He will be available
2) He will bring in assistants that at least have a clue of what's going on.
3) If he starts winning here, he'll be loved by both fanbases - he'll be a GOD in SC, period. - That's right up Dabo's alley and we're dumb enough to go for something like this.

I always 'hated' Spurrier before he came here - Then he was ours. I don't know that I could ever come to grips with Dabo as 'ours'. <shudder>🤡
Aside from the <shudder> aspect, (which I agree with) - It actually does make sense the more I think about it.

He already lives in SC, has massive ties to SC, everything is already in place for him basically. Clemson would get to say we're taking their "rejects" , and Dabo might actually get some fire under his butt to "prove Clemson wrong" , etc....etc.... and the media would go nuts over it giving both schools more exposure.

Whether you like or hate the idea...... we could do much, much worse. That's all I'm sayin'.

Dabo minus Venables and Elliott, isn't very good.

Dabo on a much more even playing field when it comes to paying players, isn't very good.

He has lost his advantages.

He has come to earth quick when forced to play the coordinator carousel game and other things like everyone else.

Can you imagine a SEC team not trying to work the transfer portal hard or be very active, how disadvantaged they would be, LOL

I don't think Dabo the Clown would do nearly as well playing an SEC schedule.
It would greatly depend on the staff he put together around him. And if he was willing to do the whole portal thing. If not, he won't be successful anywhere. This ain't high school rah-rah anymore. Scream at a kid on the sideline in the first 4 games and he'll jump in his luxury SUV and split.

Dabo without a generational QB also isn't very good.

He would still be hated by 1/2 of South Carolina because Clemson would disown him if he came here

None of our former head coaches had won two national championships, let alone this recently. But the things he hasn't been doing up there, he would have to start doing here - or anyplace he coaches henceforth.

The Dabo shine is wearing off. He's failed to adapt to the new college football. There are better options.
