I guess Coastal's luck had to run out sooner or later

Losing 1-0 certainly doesn't mean they're down for the count. Though, if they force a game 3, LSU will probably bring Kade Anderson back as the starting pitcher.

I have long thought the only way Coastal wins this is in game 3. I think they have the deeper pitching staff.

Ain't no way he comes back after 128 pitches on 2 days rest.

Thin skinned ump made it all about him and not the 2nd game of the CWS
Again, not taking sides, but it's hard to tell how many times he was warned before he got the boot. It does make the ump look bad in a game of that magnitude, but if you've been warned and the ump says one more word and you're gone, then that's on you!

Agree, but most experienced umps will make the warning ''very public'' by walking over to the coach with a very visible warning before tossing a coach and we are talking about the 1st inning!

Listen to his post-game conference. He knew what was going on. His tempwr got him ejected. Didn't appreciate being brushed off with hand gesture.

Are you saying it was intentional, and he wanted to get tossed?
How many times have you seen the umpire turn away and brush off home plate and generally do everything to avoid tossing a coach this early in the game?
All I'm saying is most umpires handle this situation better than this umpire did.

Doubt it was intentional. He opened himself to letting an ump make his fate for the game. Don't argue ball and strikes. Why let this ump make a decision. Overall, doesn't bother me. I bet Gator coach is 😅 his butt off.

My guess is it was meant to be motivational by taking up for his players who were complaining about the strike zone.

Either way no one comes out looking good in that one, and that includes college baseball as a whole!

There is a specific rule about arguing balls and strikes and he broke the rule. That is pretty much the whole story.

It was like 10 pitches into the game.
I dont think he had been warned yet

I didn't watch the game, were they actually obvious bad calls? Seems kind of early to tell if that was just going to be the guys strike zone for the day or he was just calling a terrible game to one side?

Just watched a 5 min clip but with the ump cam angle, I could even tell if it was bad pitch LOL
