I hope Shane sees Donati waiting at his office door

After the game to try to explain that catastrophe today and tell him Shula is out immediately. Complete embarrassment. Ray would probably give Shane a hug and a pat on the back and offer encouraging words
This may be unpopular, but hire James Franklin. Beamer is exactly the tight ends coach we always thought he was. Franklin's fail at Penn State was better than Beamer successes at South Carolina. Plus, Franklin wants to prove something.

I said that this week- hire him as OC and interim coach if we fire Shane next year. Won't happen. He probably wants a head job to start

Franklin said on Gameday this morning that his goal hasn't changed since the firing, he said he still wants to take a team to the national championship.

Not unpopular at all I just posted to do same. He would be consistent and win 7-9 most years

Franklin wants no part of the SEC. Every week is a big game and he can’t win big games.
We can't win big games either, and most of our fanbase seem to be just fine with averaging 6 wins a year. So that should make this year's performance unacceptable to everyone. Franklin did better than that.

Does anyone honestly see this getting better with Beamer next season? He will probably be in a full blown rebuild next year.

I think you are right in that if the rest of the season goes bad, it would be a lot of rebuilding next year.. But I think that would be true with pretty much any coach SC would spend the money on to hire.

Everyone keeps mentioning Franklin. SC isn't going to pay what a coach like Franklin is going to demand. SC doesn't pay a lot. That is a lot of the reason why it has been so hard to be successful. So any coach they hire is going to be a coach that doesn't have a "huge" name so the recruiting and keeping kids out of the portal is going to be a struggle.

Spurrier was the 1 in a million exception but he had been out of coaching for a year and, truth be told, is the very rare individual that wasn't driven by money. He was driven by his legacy.

How can you rebuild when you have to develop most of your recruits, and the coaching staff can't do that?

Lol. Your title made me laugh. Always a bad sign when your boss is waiting at your office or worse, sitting in your chair!

Maybe Donati will deliver us from this mess.

Not interested and yet another retread. We need some young hot shot from the Mid-America Conference or North Dakota who, like Spurrier, thinks he can beat anybody and everybody.
