They play Michigan State, Wisconsin, USC and Purdue next year...we really need to stop pandering to them until they join as a full member
Their schedule is also pathetic next year. Those 4, 6 ACC teams, Navy and Rice--they're not even trying

It's truly incredible. Notre Dame delibrately keeps the rest of the ACC at arm's length, than at the same time grumbles about the ACC "not fully loving them and fully advocating for them."

Do you want their love and full advocation Notre Dame? Then, well, put a damn ring on it.

I propose a B1G / ACC trade. The B1G would trade Rutgres and Maryland to the ACC in exchange for Boston College and Notre Dame.

You're right, but they shouldn't. What does Notre Dame add to any conference, in this era, that's worth putting up with their attitude and demands?
Let the SEC have them.
They had a huge fan base that will greatly assist any TV deal
They're the last "big fish" out there with Texas & OU going to the SEC
After them, UVa is probably the most wanted--that's a huge gap
And I hate Notre Dame more than any program, sports team or person on Earth lol

They might not be worth it because they will probably make a bunch of unreasonable demands. B1G needs to stop scheduling them and let them die on the independence vine and should also drop them from the ice hockey affiliation.

I'm fine with your approach but if they want to join the conference the Big Ten (or SEC) will make accommodations to get them.
Not saying I want them--i agree with you--they're ridiculous but it's about money and power.

Maybe football isn’t for notre dame. They should consider focusing their efforts on less frustrating endeavors.

I’m sure some conference will decide the $$ is worth the attitude and demand.

Earlier I watched a video on why Notre Dame would never join the Big Ten. Early in the 20th Century ND attempted to join the Big Ten 4 times. Four times and each time the anti-Catholic basis caused the Big Ten to reject ND. The way the rejections were worded made it clear the Big Ten was anti-Catholic. Which was a common theme in the US at the time. When Al Smith a Catholic was the Dem nominee for President (with FDR as his running mate) this anti-Catholic basis came front and center. The argument was that Catholics owed more loyalty to the Pope than the US Constitution. Even in 1960 when JFK ran for president this argument was in play again.

Loyalty to the pope? Half of us are just there for people watching, gossip, and donuts after mass.

ND is thrashing around damaging its possible future Conference affiliations. Miami beat ND.

I think ND is a legitimate top 10 team. They had two close losses to top 10 teams (A&M, Mia) but they beat everybody else on the weak schedule handily. ND only had one quality win (by 10 over USC) and that hurt them but it's eerily similar to PSU last year.

IMO the problem is that they took two teams from the group of 5 (Tulane & James Madison). That's how ND got squeezed out.

There are a lot of teams that are "worthy" of the playoffs. I hate using the word playoffs because it really isn't a playoff. It is still teams selected by pollsters.

16 teams no byes all conference champs get in. You basically add Notre Dame, Western Michigan, Kennesaw State and Duke to the tournament. You can't call it a championship unless all teams have a chance to win it. You need all the leagues represented. I don't count the PAC 12 since it is only two teams. If they can make it a real league again I am fine including them, but for football they are independent.

ND as usual creates their own disasters. This is what happens when you think you are more valuable than you are and want to run everything, You Self Destruct. Good for you aholes.

Any conference they want to join will accept them with open arms.
Sad but true. I would love to see the Big Ten just not play them at all or any of their minor sports including Hockey, kick them out. I was overjoyed at Wisky trouncing their Suckey/Hockey team.

While I understand the financial and PR reasons for wanting those Reprobates in the league, I have never wanted them in the Big 10.

Notre Dame isn't the draw everyone thinks they are. They are routinely mid-tier in ratings when playing regular opponents. Their most watched game of the year was against Miami (10mm) but even that was dwarfed by Texas/OSU who had 16mm on the same day. ND is only popular when playing popular opponents - most of whom are in the B1G (USC, Michigan, etc.) or are a traditional rival (Navy, etc.). They drew a 1.6 against Stanford. Dropping them from B1G schedules would hurt them/NBC more than the B1G.

True true true!!!! I couldn't agree more. You can't call it a playoff when the champion of a major conference (ACC) isn't included. The emperor has no clothes. They dont even try hiding the truth. It is a money generating entertainment. It should be win and get in. Lose and go home! It's actually pretty simple.

Agreed but I think that's why we get 20 or 24...they still want byes and then Texas BYU and Vandy would also be in

To me the most important thing is that when you go to fall camp to know that you can play in the championship game if you take care of your business. It sucks to know that no matter how wins you have you can't win the championship.
