Suspected this as well. This offense is designed to be explosive and put up a lot of points. We have the pieces to do so. UK needs to outscore people plain and simple and score as much as they can as fast as they can and never let up. But as soon as Stoops sees a lead he wants to attempt to start grinding and its a momentum killer. I get that is football 101 but football 101 doesn't apply to UK and never has.
I had heard that he was notorious for that. Figured it may be true when it would show him standing by Dawson all of the time during games. Not sure if I'm the only one that seen it, but a few weeks ago he interrupted gran when he was describing the tempo of his offense for this season. When he tried to change his answer their isn't a doubt in my mind that he has meddled with the offense all a long.
That's what I've been saying on this board all day. Stoops is running the defense.
I want them both gone.
I was patient with Brooks because I had this feeling that he could be somewhat successful here. He was a veteran coach who had success elsewhere.
I don't get that feeling with Stoops. He seems lost and in over his head. The only thing consistent with his teams are folding in the 2nd half of the game/season.
