I know its only one play, but did anyone else think it was interesting that Relf slid on a scramble?

I like everyone else have been watching Relf for the last few years, and the kid has never slid in his entire career. But against UGA I watched him slide on a scramble to avoid a tackle of a safety.

With all the talk of what is wrong with Relf, it seems to me that he has taken even more of a pounding this year than normal. Against LSU and AU he was hit really hard, and UGA was bringing it as well.

If Relf is looking to slide, it just seems to me that he isn't the same guy who was almost looking for contact only a year ago.</p>

he's probably thinking he has to stay upright if we wanna have a shot at getting a papa johns bowl bid this year after watching favre out there and knowing russell is banged up. he's definitely getting hammered. he hasn't played great most of the season, specifically on throwing deep balls, but pretty ever since our OL injuries started to mount, he's really had no chance to do much.

I don't remember much of the 2nd half, but our initial game plan was spreading the ball around with short passes, and I don't remember him running nearly as much as normal. I think the coaches are realizing he won't last much longer if he has more games like Auburn and LSU.

When Relf sees man converage -- and sometimes not enough DBs on the 3 wide side -- he is supposed to check into a short pass. That's why that was working early. When UGA shifted into a zone, things started getting ugly.
