I like 1-32 seeding but I'd love it if ....

... it was done according to an impartial power ranking. Possibly a committee of respected high school reporters and followers headed up by Edgy and Soucie ? Bringing in members from all over the state to be fair geographically. I think this would give us the best and fairest playoff bracket . Opinions ?

For now I would just be happy getting 1-32 seeding for 1A thru 6A.

My second wish would be 6 classes.

But I like your idea but would also like the seedings set up in a way it would be unlikely for a team to play another team it has played during the regular season again in the playoffs. To few games in football and I like to see new teams every week.

I also like Edgy's idea of the higher seed being able to defer their home game to the lower seed to get a higher chance of getting a home game later in the playoffs.

To many teams for people to see, people from each region would try to seed their team highest since that's all they have seen. The system in 7A and 8A is perfect now the other classes should use the same system.

I'd love to see 6 classes again too.

Agree. No way to have a committee that has seen enough of all the teams involved to form a credible opinion. By the numbers is the only way to weed out the politics and biases.

I agree politics would come in to play. I just don't like the point system. Teams from weaker conferences with weaker schedules get seeded too high ( a lot of the CPS teams). While teams from tougher conferences with tougher schedules are seeded too low ( Bolingbrook & Mt. Carmel )
