Got the chance to speak with both @CoachGran and @CoachHinshaw this evening and am really lookin forward to work with them!

Definitely agree. Tate is already locked in, but I believe Hinshaw and Gran are making their rounds to keep our recruiting class on board to the best of their ability. Around the country, when a coordinator leaves, sometimes a class falls apart. Oddly enough, I think Gran and Hinshaw will only improve our class come signing day, where they minimize decommitments and even add a couple of their own talented recruits. Snagging those two really was best case scenario for sure.

I am trying to restrain my excitement about these two hires; however, I think we will see an improved offense and defense. - Coach Stoops can give more attention to the defense. And, with Coach Marrow confirming his commitment to the Cats I believe we have a very good chance to have a good recruiting class. Go Cats!!

Correct, dead period ends January 13th, so only recruits that have signed for early enrollment can be contacted until then.

I thought they could contact players that have already signed? Leavitt and Jackson both have already signed so I think they can have pretty open contact with coaches of the school they have signed with.

These guys are much better recruiters than Dawson and Mainord. I thought Mainord showed good promise getting us into the DMV but that fell apart quickly. Dawson didn't do squat on the recruiting trail.

Leavitt is already a Cat and Jackson has signed FA agreement as stated above, so the coaches can call them. The other commits can call the coaches.

Coaches still get one call per week during dead and quiet periods. Recruits can call coaches all they want.

They announced him as Head Offense Coach. I think you missed the point being made by UK.

I really don't get this post. Very insecure? I don't see that at all. He was named assistant head coach of the offense also. And if giving Hinshaw the title of co OC helped land him, I don't see a problem.

The only thing "dead period" means is that coaches can't have face to face contact with recruits. Can still call them (limited), and can have unlimited social media contact. I believe that Saban uses FaceTime during dead periods. In other words, it means almost nothing, especially in the SEC.

Gran's title is for propaganda purposes - to refute the accusations that Stoops controls the offense. The co-OC titles are for pay purposes.

Hinshaw and Gran are both top 20 recruiters, Dawson and Mainord not close! Way more sucess in their coaching history than who they replaced. Give them completed facilities,exposure to their coaching.and subsequent better onfield results,and we will do just fine recruiting! Until then, it's a process!

Agreed. The deal was probably Gran has full say over the offense hence the Head Coach of Offense tag. Hinshaw likely "OC" in name only.

I think it also contemplates helping Gran to the next level, if he has success at UK, and grooming Hinshaw for his replacement. That is positive thinking and the way Stoops should be planning. He expects success. I hope he is right.

Completely agree, it really just gets old after a while. How about a topic just for the nattering nabobs of negativism. They could go there & whine to their hearts content.
