I met a former player (83-87) waiting to board flight in ATL, but can’t recall his name…

He said he was there while JoePa was coach, specifically from 83 to 87, but I didn’t immediately recognize his name. His last name was “Hay” or something similar. Anyone remember a player from back then with a similar sounding name?
