That must have been an error on the tv graphic or my addled brain. We never gave up that many points to any team in 1956, one of our best teams in the midst of the streak

That was a typo. Probably should have been something like 1996, not 1956.

In '96, Nebraska scored 73 on us, but they only had 17 at halftime, and was actually scoreless in the first quarter.

The next year they got 69, but only 14 in the first.
