It's easy to get to what he has.

UK gets the Midwest
Villanova stays East
Duke gets next closest, which is Houston
Wisconsin goes West.

I have a hard time keeping Duke as a 1, but they do have more quality wins than Virginia, they did beat Virginia, and the committee can fall back on the "Virginia's best player is hurt" argument. So..

Virginia goes East. Cleveland is closer, but only by a hair, and it's only fair that the #5 team avoids the #1 team's region.
Arizona stays West, Gonzaga goes to the next closest, which is Houston, and then Kansas and Notre Dame, both closest to Cleveland, both go there.

Iowa State gets Houston, Maryland goes to Syracuse, Oklahoma goes West.

I see the sense in all of it (though it's irksome that Duke appears to get an easy path), and I would like it if it happened.

Sounds about right. I'll make one argument though...Spokane is 31 hours from both Cleveland and Houston (according to Google Maps) so despite it being closer mileage wise to Houston...can the committee resist the Wiltjer/UK angle? You can still put ND as the 3 seed if that happens.I'm just saying if they can look the other way for UVA a bit on geography they can on Gonzaga as well, especially when time is listed as the same despite the mileage being different.

The East is the easiest bracket according to those brackets... Then Duke has the next to easiest IMO..... Mid West and West has the two worse brackets.....

I think if Wisconsin wins tomorrow there's at least a decent chance that we go to the South. The NCAA could use the excuse that it kept 3 of the 4 No. 1 seeds in their "natural" region.

I think you easily see this:

East: Villanova/Virginia
South: Kentucky/Gonzaga
Midwest: Wisconsin/Kansas
West: Duke/Arizona

You can't be serious. There's absolutely ZERO chance the overall #1 seed (and probably undefeated) is going to be sent to Houston instead of Cleveland. That would be the dumbest move they've ever made. No chance of it.

No, UK gets shafted...but people like you of the Arizona Coalition...who has NO quality wins over any non-overrated west coast teams this year and has 3 losses to CBI/NIT teams...should get a 1 over Wisconsin.

Call me ACC guy but there is no way Kan or Gonzaga should be 2 seeds ahead of ND.

Kan has 8 loses, no top 10 wins and 2 loses of more than 25 points.

Gonzaga has played 1 team in the top 25 and lost

ND has beaten Duke 2 out of 3 games, Beat NC twice, UL on the road and won the ACC tourney and has only 5 loses. They are the better team of the 3.

Absolutely serious. To think there is zero chance is just silly. Nova/UVA will draw to Syracuse. Wisconsin/Kansas will draw to Cleveland. UK will draw to Houston (or anywhere). And while Duke won't draw to the west, Arizona certainly will.

While you're taking the geography stance literally, assuming it's based on mileage, the committee could easily use the "natural" region defense, and in that case Nova certainly fits in the East, Wisconsin in the Midwest and Kentucky in the South. I'm not saying this will happen, but this scenario is the safest bet for ensuring strong gates at all regional sites, and if you don't think that figures into the equation, you're being naive.

Does it really matter if ND is a 3 seed if they are in the Midwest regardless? I don't think it does.

And with that I"m off here for the night. These people pumping up Arizona as a 1 seed are annoying me...because that will screw UK.

Maybe but their OOC schedule was pathetic. Kansas has the # 1 RPI rating and the committee looks hard at that. I think Notre Dame is better too, but I bet they get a 3.

If Lunardi has it right it will be the first time. Do you really think the committee will let itself be upstaged by JL. I was hoping Joe would keep Gonzaga as Duke's 2 so that the actual bracket might be different. Of course they could always let Joe get one right.
