I think Mikel Horton is going to be a big success.

I don't think he got enough touches this year either. He will be more experienced and even in a down year, still averaged over 5 yards a carry this season.

Anyone feel the same?

I do. Big and powerful and able to handle the pounding of the SEC. Just needs to shore up ball security. He and Boom could be like Bernard and Hill for the Bengals.

When he lowers his shoulder, he gets yards every time. Ball security is the only thing. This offseason, I hope he just gets into the weight room and packs on the muscle.
I want to see him explode through the line a bunch next season.

No question. I think Horton will be the best Pro back of the 4. He and Boom will make a helluva 1, 2 punch. I'd like to see more 2 back sets where they can use both of them.

Two glaring issues with Horton (not that these can't/won't be fixed, I think they will. But just stating why he didn't get as many touches as his skill should have dictated): 1) Fumbles and 2) he tip-toed at the line A LOT

He should have been a short yardage back, but Heard and JoJo both hit the hole MUCH harder than Horton. If he can learn how to be patient and then explode as well as take care of the ball I think he will be a huge asset for our O

I think a year under his belt will make him much less tentative. I would think if he adds around 15 pounds of muscle, if should help his confidence on the field as well.
More confidence = explosiveness through the hole = more yards.
Once he figured out that he just needs to put two hands on the ball, tuck it, and lower his shoulder, he will see a noticeable difference in his production.
Boom will just come back and be Boom, and I'll be euphoric with that result.

THIS^^^^ Slow to the hole, but that can be fixed.

Well I hate to be the odd man out but did Kemp get hurt and I haven't heard about it? He and Boom were listed on the depth chart as "or"

I like the kid but he'll never get a sniff of NFL football. He's very slow getting to the line. No quickness at all. Doesn't run like a punisher which is the only role he would ever have. Fumbles.
I really don't see him getting very many carries unless we get a huge lead and we get down to the third and fourth stringers (which would be great). Just too many better running backs on the team.
