I just don’t know about the D matching up against Grier. You have to either get some good pressure on him consistently, or he will pick you apart. I see us winning 54-48 in a nail biter Bull.
I see West Virginia winning 45-38.
If Kansas can hang 40 points, it's scary to think what Grier and company can do playing in front of the hostile home crowd...and coming off an upset loss to OSU in Stillwater.
The Sooner Schooner has no wind in its sails at this time, all because of a virtually nonexistent defense. It's "dead in the water".
We are likely to see OU giving up 40-plus points....for the fourth consecutive game.
I wonder what the old guard of Sooner players are thinking right now.
Clearly it is time for a complete "tear down, build up" effort for defensive football at OU.
The culture must change now and those defensive coaches currently on board cannot deliver this change.
Purging Coach Mike is only a small step towards this but it seems as if his firing now is like throwing a deck chair overboard to lighten the load on a cruise ship.
I realize OU has a 10-1 record, but 7 of those teams have losing records and OSU has lost 5 times.

I just hope the wheels don't fall off the bus...er, schooner. This "gotta be perfect to win" pressure on the Offense has to be hard on the guys, and a few early mistakes from our O, coupled with WVU scores, could lead to a complete disaster. If that isn't the case, look for another high scoring shootout, 48-45.
I feel our D has potential that we just have not seen yet. We have a Jekyll & Hyde D. Let's see if the nasty Mr. Hyde shows up and keeps Grier on his heels for at least a part of the game or if Dr. Jekyll shows up a let's Grier have his way up and down the field. The game comes on at 2 am for me here. I will be up with Tune-In tuned in.
We have all scene how good Ruff is, do we actually think this will be the day he disks up a game plan worth a crap.
Agree, it's about confidence at this point for the players. If they can get a few early stops and the Offense scores early, a 3 TD lead could lead to a boost of confidence they sorely need right now. Then blitz the **** out of Grier and don't let him pick us apart!
If OU gets in a hole early on then its over. Would like to see the defense get a few turnovers to help out the O or at least a few key stops but......

Maybe, but don't forget, OU was down 14-0 early to TT and we came back to win and even though Texas blew our doors off for most of the game, we scored 21 points in the 4th to tie it up late.
Not really the same team that lost to Texas, injuries to key players since then and wv is a lot better than taco tech. The defense has progressively gotten worse since both of those games as hard as it is to believe it could get worse, it did.
If wv gets out in front early by 14 or more it could get real ugly real fast unless OU can Rent a decent defense I just don't see us stopping them very much if at all.

After WVU lost to okie state for their 2nd loss of the season, their players and coaches and their fans know nationally they are going nowhere. The two losses guarantee that nationally their season is over and the polls reflect this. . They will roll over as we increase our lead.
OU on the other hand knows with a win and a dominating win that we are still in the hunt and the team will play positively and aggressively.
As innovative on offense as Coach Riley is, I think we jump on them early and our D responses also with pressure on Grier. Also its supposed to be raining & our blitz gets to Grier and I think turnovers appear. Kyler will be impossible to catch by their defense.
This game and a dominating win will be a message to the committee and our entire team knows it.
OU will dominate on both sides of the ball..
OU wins by at least three scores.

Put away the eggnog for the evening David. This will be their bowl game and we'll be fortunate to escape the hillbillies with a win. Don't get me wrong, I love your optimism and that would be an excellent outcome and pray that's what we see. We must get some pressure on Grier or it could be an ugly night
Has any team this season held OU to only 9 first downs for the entire game, 152 yards of total offence, 100 passing yards only 52 rushing yards and held us scoreless in the entire 2nd half and we only scored 14 points in the entire game and we were 1 for 10 on 3rd downs????
An average team Iowa State did this to WVU a month or five weeks ago on October 13th.. .
We have a defensive pattern to look at after ISU made West Virginia look impotent..
West Virgina's national bubble burst with their 2nd loss of the season to okie state last week.

Agree.........I can easily see this getting out of hand if WV gets out to a fast start. The mental fragility of our defense might cause them to fold without too much resistance.
Ya clearly the opportunity to knock off OU in their own house to close out the regular season means nothing to them....
I like that you think the defense will put up a fight. Why now when they haven't all year? What makes this game special?
