I Think We Beat Wake Forest

We are a really bad match up for WF. BC and NC almost beat them and for once in a long while I am confident that CSS will outcoach Clausen.

It will be a close one but I believe we pull it off because I think all of our QBs are healthy for this game, meaning WF can't prepare for all of the packages CSS can/will throw at them. CSS was a hair away from upsetting WF in 2017 at Appy State and these players play HARD for these coaches, you can bet they'll go to WF with a huge chip on their shoulders.

I think we steal one here.

Add to that Utah State had three turnovers @WF and almost beat them as well.

I think our D had too many holes. WF is better than BC offensively and that will be tough to deal with. We can start by covering the TEs.
Offensively I feel confident we can score on anybody but my worry is stopping the other team from scoring.

I feel like we win this game. We won’t just sell out on the run and our gameplan this week you’d think Is going to be try to let there running game beat us instead of the passing game. 38-34 cards win!

As an outsider having watched both teams play several times this year, I believe the Cards have an excellent shot at stealing one in Winston Salem. While there are some concerns on the defensive side of the ball, your offense will score points on WF. It should be a really good game. Good luck to you guys!

I think the key to the game is to contain the QB, Newman rushes around 50ish yards per game and he has thrown an interception in each of his last three games.

Their defense has 9 sacks on the season, but 4.5 of those came against Rice.

Seems like everyone thought WF was an automatic loss as one of the better ACC teams (not saying much there). I haven't watched them play, but looking at them on paper, I don't see some juggernaut. I'm stoked that the ACC losing streak is over, but BC is horrible and the Cards got beat by a pretty bad FSU team, which I think we all agree WF is better than FSU this year. I think there's a chance Saturday, we will see. If it sounds like I'm talking out both sides, I agree I am, it's because I don't know what to expect really. 50/50 maybe?

The fact that the #19 team in the nation playing at home is just a 6 1/2 point favorite over the Cards tells you the respect that Coach Satterfield, his assistants and players have earned in an unbelievably short time.
Speed kills. We have it. Not worried about anything but stopping the big plays. Our secondary needs to keep gaining experience. Close out faster. Defend the flats better and make’m pay with hits if they come thru the middle.

The match up predictor gives Louisville a 31% chance to win. I like that the team got a much needed confidence boost. I think they'll be more than ready. WF is definitely beatable. They do have a really good offense with NFL talent, but their defense is average. We'll be able to move the ball. I'm guessing it's going to be a high scoring game. Wake has had two weeks to prepare and it's at home. It's going to be difficult, we'll need some things to go our way, but it can be done.

I want a Safety like Bobby Boucher (The Waterboy) fast and mean with two screws loose and an overbearing momma.

Louisville's secondary is still very suspect. I'll hope for the best but I expect Wake to out shoot the Cardinals.

The good news is, during the broadcast, we won’t have to hear, again, about Colburn getting screwed over. Though, I’m sure he’ll be their honorary captain and the broadcast team will then discuss it in length.

Statiscally speaking, these two teams are about as close as you can get. What would benefit us the most is to control possession by running the ball, and hope that our defense doesn’t have the mental lapses in coverage against the pass like we did this past Saturday. Gonna be hard for us to get this one on the road. If we get into an offensive battle like we did against BC, I don’t think we even cover the spread. Hope I’m wrong.

I know guys on here are worried about injuries on the offensive side. It’s the D side that worries me most. Can’t afford any positions on D to deplete. But dang, I like the way our backers hit. Some really decent collisions going on against BC.

Remember when Bobby Boucher showed up at halftime, and the Mud Dogs won the Bourbon Bowl? Do ya?!
