I thought Stoops was a defensive minded coach?

I wasn't expecting an Alabama defense, but in year 3 with the vast majority of his players, UK should be better on D than this.

Look at the guys on defense who are Stoops players that are JRs and SRs.

A.J. Stamps

Ryan Flannigan

C.J. Johnson

Marcus McWilson

Blake McClain

Jason Hatcher

That should be a solid foundation for a good defense, or at least an average one. All these guys had multiple Power 5 offers.

Outside of Johnson, the rest of those players have either not progressed or regressed.

Stoops can't coach defense at UK like he did at Florida State. Has got to be unconventional. Way too vanilla.

He's just in over his head. He probably is a good defensive coach, when that's all he has to focus on. He just doesn't have the ability to handle multiple facets during game day. He's just not head coach material.

He's going to be VERY defensive if this game continues on it's current path.

The defense was solid until that debacle at the end, but that's what we do

I get what you're saying, but I'm talking about the season as a whole.

There are times when we look like we couldn't stop a high school offense.

A pick six and a fumble at the 4. And a trick play that shouldn't have happened. Plenty to gripe about, I don't think defense is it.
