I'm not sure such a team exists but I agree with what you are saying. The first order of business is we have to learn how to win like that,it is not in this bunch. It may come but it will probably be next year. Yes ,we won 49-13 yesterday but should have put up 60 + on that team. Winning a bowl game is much more important and valuable to this team than just playing in one.that's what I'm hoping for. I don't want the even match or the underdog slot. Give us the worst 6-6 team

Not me, I want to play the best team possible... I want UK to win it and get momentum going into next year...that's what I'm hoping for. I don't want the even match or the underdog slot. Give us the worst 6-6 team

Won't happen, especially after UT loses to TCU Friday. Even if UT went 6-6 it's doubtful that they would even accept a bowl game given the situation, at least that's the rumor floating around.I can't believe some fans are fearing a possible match-up with the Texas Longhorns in a bowl game!
Sorry, but Jared Lorenzen has used up all of his eligibility.Just give me a team without a mobile QB.
Yes it does count for something ,but AP is ........well not a very good team (to say the least possible) yet they pulled off some nice runs through out the entire game, the holding call looked like a good block for a long time.We still should have hung 60 on themAfter not starting all our regulars and falling behind 13-0 we outscored them 42-0 in two quarters, doesn't that count for something? And I really hated seeing Boom lose his LONG TD run to a silly holding foul,, even if he had to hold he didn't have to hold that long and the "victim" sure sold it well.

I'm sorry Jauk but I've got to reply on this one, the hold lasted 3 minutes and under the pads. Happy Thanksgiving Jauk [cheers]
I hope the coaches took note of that play, they can run it again when we are trying to run out the clock. I didn't say it wasn't an obvious hold and that the player didn't do a good job of selling it.
Timmons is a senior, he shouldn't have been in a position where he had to hold on that play to start with, and there is an excellent chance that he would have got away with it if he hadn't held on so long, there is holding going on on every play. If you hadn't noticed Boom runs away from a lot of players without anyone holding them. But it might have been a good hold, if he had tackled Boom for a loss we wouldn't have got to play the down over again.
And yes, I knew you would have to reply, you are a wonderful critic, especially of our team and coaches, but sorry, we already have way too many of those. The good news is it was only a three yard penalty-----LOL.
Which makes me wonder why they don't kill the play as soon as the offense commits a foul, nothing good can happen after that, the closest thing being another bad thing, the D fouls so they offset. But the first thing you learn as an official is a foul never stops a play and an inadvertent whistle is the worst sin an official can commit. Of course you blow the whistle ASAP if it is a dead ball foul.
But you didn't wish me happy thanksgiving jauk![]()
How 'bout Memphis?I'd prefer to have a win over a respectable team to hang our hat on...

Our @SECcountry bowl projections have Kentucky facing Memphis in the Birmingham bowl.
It is on my list, but it is WAY down there on my list, you seem to like to call my name out a lot with nothing good to say, similar to you liking to talk a lot about our team, players, and coaches without having anything good to say. Like I said, we already have too many of those idiots calling for Stoops to be fired when there is NO chance of it happening now or in the near future, but maybe you can discourage some recruit-------or their mom.
Since 6-6 is the lowest threshold for bowl eligibility, and since SEC teams typically get matched against teams with better records from lesser conferences, we won't draw another 6-6 team as an opponent. The 15 additional December practices are a time for team improvement. This should especially help Steve Johnson, and it should give our coaches an opportunity to work on assignment soundness on our defensive. We should look for our guys to play well in the bowl.that's what I'm hoping for. I don't want the even match or the underdog slot. Give us the worst 6-6 team
Since you put me on ignore, you won't see that I think your comments are more and more clueless every time you post. Happy Thanksgiving.Have you ever had any fun in your entire life ?:cheers2:
Feel bad for ya jauk but hope you enjoy thanksgiving and always remember, it just a message board not life and death
I think he said worse 6-6 team, neither of those went 6-6I don't think Austin Peay or Missouri are bowl eligible.
We better worry about this Saturday...not about some off brand bowl game..Go big bluethat's what I'm hoping for. I don't want the even match or the underdog slot. Give us the worst 6-6 team
What many on here seem to forget is instead of having a week to prepare for your opponent, you will have a month. 15 bowl practices, time to rest and heal.
It is much like the playoffs in MLB or the NBA, the difference between regular and post season is somewhat large.
GA Tech would be a tough opponent for us. That triple option...CBS projections say GA Tech in Independence...talk about a slug fest...triple option vs two 1,000 sec rbs...
I'm more interested in a match up like that....mid-lower tier P5 that is going to be a better indicator of where the program is going under CMS...
GA Tech would be a tough opponent for us. That triple option...
Army would be our best chance of a win. Pitt would be pretty tough and you would have to think that Houston would make a better bowl game than the one we'll be in.agreed that it's not a walk in the park, but post season is not vacation season...
highly unlikely that it shakes out exactly like the projections so I wouldn't fret about facing g-tech and the triple option.
some other projections have us playing Houston, Army, Pittsburg...
