I was a senior at UK when it first aired. Something about Martha Quinn turned me on. She wasn't as hot as Nina Blackwood but still.... Girl next door look maybe.

She used to do viewer mail, where she would answer questions mailed in by viewers. A buddy of mine sent in a question that read "Which MTV VJ needs a good 'shagging'?" I don't recall that one making it on air.

Why do I think WGN was 9? Might be misremembering.

Missed out on the beginning of MTV because we didn’t have cable at the time. It might not have even been available then. I did watch VH1 on its launch day. I think Solid by Ashford and Simpson played about 2 times per hour.

This little honky was weened at the teat of Yo! MTV Raps. It was appointment television for young funKY. Seems like it was on Saturday mornings, IIRC (it’s been a while). Mom would be cleaning the house and dad would be at work and/or asleep. Free time for me and Fab 5 Freddy to explore the world of hip hop. Don’t get me wrong, Ed and Dre were great, but Freddy knew everybody. I still have the original Yo! cassette and probably a few issues of Word Up! somewhere.
Good times.

WGN was 9 out of Chicago. They always advertised it as such, I think. I could be wrong.

HBO was 21 or 24.

I thought SHO,MAX and TMC were 37,38,39 but that may have come later.

Haven't thought about liquid television in forever...aeon Flux.

Also, there was that sketch show in the 90s called the state, had a bunch of the ppl that ended up on reno 911. Then there was that prank show called buzzkill.

The early 2000s started the reality downfall with true life and cribs and I hated Carson daily and TRL
Barry and Levon with 240 dollars worth of pudding is hilarious.

Aw yeah.

The reality downfall started in 1992 with The Real World.

I still quote State sketches to this day and most people just give me blank stares.
