I was wrong. Clemson was really good.

If you missed it, I made a knee-jerk post for Stoops to GTFO after the loss to Clemson. It was still embarrassing to lose to them like we did, but after last night's game, I know now that Clemson was really good. They were really primed for the playoffs and playing their best ball. To hang with them into the 4th quarter was pretty impressive in retrospect, and the voters realized that letting us slip only one spot to #5.

Our oline should be light years better next year, and they feature some awfully big nasties that could take it to the next level. It will be fun to see how Baker can play as a pocket passer. We'll need some breakout stars on the defensive line, but we look to be alright everywhere else.

On Dec 31, 2015, I was stoopid.

I think we've all been guilty of a knee jerk reaction to some degree. My question is, why did it take last night's game to validate Clemson as being really good? I think Clemson proved how good they were by dominating OU in every area of the game. They were just better and it's okay to lose to a better team. The better team is supposed to win. I think some here have a hard time seeing that OU is not always the better team so they blame Bob and the coaches for every loss. Sometimes we get them, sometimes they get us.

I'm sorry, but admissions of being wrong just doesn't fly here! :D

You aren't stoopid Jcon. Lol :D
No need to apologize or anything about being disappointed after a pretty brutal loss. It happens man. It's nice to finish with a Top 5 finish, but also it shows there is a pretty wide gap between the Top 2, and everyone else. The OU staff has their work cut out for them to close that gap.

I think Clemson was the best team in the country with all their guys. Bama's two kick off plays were the difference. Great coaching.

And with two of the best three playmakers on defense unavailable in the second half and with their quarterback and running back hurting in the second half, Bama's depth took over. You could tell in the second half that when Watson ran, that guys that he'd outrun easily for 14 and a half games weren't slower than he was, with his leg dings. Missing their AHole but great corner, was huge on Bama's big plays. Their tight end had the game of his life.

All that to say the Clemson is really good.

Good for you X.

That kind of contrition is rare around here.

You're right too, Clemson is one of the most complete teams we've played since that Pete Carrolls USC in 2004.

And what is worse, they've got just about all their guys coming back next year! They'll be better, but so will we. But Dabo has it going on in Clemson and will clean up this recruiting season. They're going to be a very good football team for the next several years.

I guess it's hard to admit you are wrong, but I forgive you. Hopefully, others can learn from your example and learn to trust everything I tell you. Obviously, barkingyank, WNAS, and billyswitzerland are excluded from this expectation given their inability to do so even with the simplest of examples.

Let me know when you need to know anything. If I don't know, I'll ask around. ;)

I was feeling pretty sure Clemson would win this game.

Or maybe I just wanted them to so we looked better ... and Bama did not get so far ahead of us in Natties that we'll never catch them.

Turn out the lights, the party's over.

Unless you're incapable of seeing it, we DID look better as a result of this game.

I responded to your post because although I agree with every thing you say I can't "like" it.
Since you are probably the closest Tom it's incumbent on you to take every possible opportunity to ensure the success of the Sooners within reason, legal or otherwise...

Clemson and Bama seemed a ways ahead of the pack. 5-6 NFL DL among the group and the two top offensive players in the country on offense. Both really good up front with some several top level playmakers.

Wish Clemson had pulled it off. The 4-5 busts in the secondary killed them. Even if you give up the onside recovery and KR TD, they still win without those big busts. I blame BV :)
