That's not a fair statement at all. We're bad but the defense did only give up six points.
If we had a QB that could complete a few passes downfield, we'd actually be a pretty decent team right now.

This. Defense has been much better. Even against Alabama. We just have no passing game with SJ, but he can run!
The expectations of some in our fan base is what's sad. We barely scrape by against the worst team in the SEC At home in year 4 and some of you will do anything to find a positive in a bad situation only making the whole issue worse.
I'm glad anytime uk wins, but we are doomed with our thinking.
Who cares? We are at home in stoops 4th year against the worst team in the entire conference and barely get by. It's not something to see positive in. Realistically we suck, our staff sucks, and Louisville and Barnhart are laughing at you.

The OP said the defense played a hell of a game. How can anyone argue with that? They didn't give up a touchdown and only two field goals. It's hard to do much better than that, I don't care who you are.
There's plenty to complain about. The way the defense played today isn't one of them. Give credit where credit is due. Otherwise, the legitimate complaints - and believe me, there are still plenty - start losing their credibility.

I just don't see the point in looking for positivity in a situation that, in the long run, will hurt UK by retaining stoops over mediocrity.
The way you and some of your apologist are, we will never complete in a meaningful way. Just try and get to a .500 season and celebrate.

How does constantly bashing the coach and the team do anything positive for the program? In my book all the negative posters on here do is give our rivals material to point to to scare away potential recruits.
lol some people need to be brought down to reality with statistical facts occasionally. That being said the defense thst took the field the first three games would have given up several touchdowns. Have they improved since then? Sure. But not to the extent they need to. Not even close. South Carolina and Vanderbilt are the two worst offenses we'll face all season. Alabama wasnt actively trying to humiliate us. Missouri has a prolific offense. They're going to torch us I fear.

Actually the offense played pretty good considering that VANDY knew they could key in on the run game. They knew we couldn't complete a pass. Yet we ran consistently well. Not sure how many rushing yards we ended up with, but other than Booms fumble all the RBs were getting good yardage. So, our problem wasn't the WHOLE offense...just the QB.

We're a good QB from being decent right now. Johnson is doing what he was brought here to do, and I'm thankful for that. But he's not going to go for 400 ypg. This Vandy d isn't bad, this team almost beat UF last week. Their offense is Webb, bit their d is not bad.
Enjoy the freaking win man. We're not going to make the decision to hire or fire anyway. Enjoy what we have. Be miserable if you want...

Look it was kinda ugly, but it was a good win. In case any of you haven't noticed, Vandy plays ugly games and forces their opponents into ugly games. Look at their game against South Carolina, a 13-10 loss. Florida a 13-6 loss, They play relatively low scoring games. They have a legit SEC Defense but a terrible offense. They are basically what Boston College is to the ACC. anyway, it was a solid, much needed win that will give us some momentum going into an off week. If we can beat MSU, I'm starting to like our chances at a bowl game. I know it's not been the season most expected, but I like winning regardless of how ugly it is. And if we can manage a bowl game even if it's a crappy one and get that extra practice and development time in we will be better off.

Stoops and Barnhart have set a bar at a .500 season. I want to see us expand on our success from brooks and get to nine wins. I'm not believing for a second stoops is anywhere near capable of that. All he talks about is a 6 win bowl.
If we all want what's best for this program, we need to demand a high bar and if we miss, we're still successful.

One should be called thread to ***** in and the other should be called thread to be unrealistically positive. Defense played a good game. QB play was putrid.
