If I'm nominated to run for president, I will name Pat White as my vice president.

I think it's sort of odd for Cruz to pick his VP before he has been nominated and immediately after being mathematically eliminated from gaining enough fist ballot delegates to earn the nomination.

Note: The link has embedded video.

This only shows that Cruz is more of an idiot than I thought he was. He is a real oddball. And people on this board question why Trump is getting votes.

I've said all along Cruz is a worse and more dangerous person that could be President than Trump. And Fiorina is actually worse.

Desperate candidates do what he did today. He is done. Now, lets hope he loses his Senate seat the next time it is up.

Basketball ring........are you kidding me?

My whackjob technician was in a full-metal-rant Tuesday. He's been quiet for months since Trump's been blasting through the primaries, but that all ended at lunch Tuesday. Ten minutes of spittin, fuming, rantin, and spittin again. In summary, Cruz is what the GOP will become after the voters get this Trump experiment out of their system. The GOP will be unified and Cruz will be the GOP candidate for President next time.

Wow.

I doubt this is Cruz's last run, but this might be the most successful one he has. I don't mean to imply that he will get the nod this time by that.

I think the Fiorina thing is to try to get some traction in California. It stinks of desperation though.

It is desperate, but understandably so. The Trump Express has been flying along and Cruz hasn't gained any ground with any of his tactics.

I don't question why he's getting votes ahead of Cruz ... my question has always been how does Cruz and Trump rise to the top with all of those candidates to choose from. I'll never understand that.

I think it represents the two opposing philosophies that make up the GOP constituency. Cruz appeals to the Limbaugh-esque conservative crowd that want to 'bring religion and the constitution back to our daily lives'. Trump appeals to the anti-establishment crowd.

What a mess.

Cruz is a seasoned cutthroat campaigner, is well financed and has a very developed ground game. Trump is a total out of the box candidate with high name recognition. The total failure of Bush,Christy,Rubio and Kasich is somewhat puzzling but not unexpected to me. The others never had any chance.

You libtards must have missed the fact that Cruz had a landslide victory in Texas. He will be a political force in Texas for a long time.

True, Texans like him and will keep putting him back in office. But, when no one from his own party likes him, things could get very ugly. They could set him up to take a fall. Politics is a very dirty business.

[laughing]

And several posters made fun of me a few months ago when I tried to point out what an idiot Cruz is.

[pfftt]
He is very intelligent. Just not a very likeable guy. He still has a decent shot at getting the nomination if he wants to become even less popular.

I agree. He's intelligent. I think the issues when it comes to likability with him are: he thinks he's the smartest guy in every room, and he treats every statement he makes as if he's facing Harvard in an ivy league debate. I know this isn't knew to the world of politics, but he gives partial truths in almost every statement he makes. It's slanted to his benefit. Like I said, nothing new in politics, but somehow he makes it feel even slimier than normal. I call it the Grandpa Munster effect.

Politically speaking I should like the guy but I really don't like him. I would rather vite for the Donald than him. I think he makes some good points but I would rather read him than listen to him.

Isn't this race for the President of the United States?
Also, as the demographics of TX change, either Cruz is going to have to change his rhetoric or he will lose general elections. Keeping all variables other than the demographic changes, TX is a blue state within a couple of presidential elections.

Cruz is simply following the same principles that Obama followed. Smartest in the room; a grad of Ivy League; partial truths in every statement; slanted to his benefit. Obama rode that philosophy into the White House and reelected.

Why does it not work for Cruz? Is he seen as minority? Cruz even had been exposed to more to be qualified for the job , maybe. But it did not translate to majority vote. Why.

Cruz doesn't even have to read from teleprompter to relate half truths. He may even tell the same tale on the West coast that he does on East. I ask you, how does he fail to translate into majority votes.

Cruz doesn't have the rapport with his political counterparts that Obama had. Truth is, he's confrontational and not well liked.

How can you make that statement with a straight face as to the reason he was attractive. Explain what the opposition saw that he had to offer. Waiting for that.
