ICE Power Rankings
1) Wilmington - Status Quo
2) Coal City - Glorified practice last week
3) Manteno - I had serious thought of switching them with Peotone after this week, but I don't think there is enough right now to do so, hell maybe there wasn't enough to ever bump Manteno to 3. Manteno is undefeated and had a closer than expected win against RC, however they are still undefeated. I also think their win against Johnsburg has slightly more weight than Peotones against Marengo.
4) Peotone - Their big win against Lisle was weighing on my mind for a bump up in the rankings. Lisle is no world beater, and they may still be a very below average team, but Peotone crushed them. Their huge loss to Wilmington is still weighing in my mind.
5) Reed-Custer - Hung in there with Manteno. While I do think RC has a few more losses on their schedule, none will be as large as Lisle's to a mid tier team
6) Lisle - Lisle fell back to reality after getting stomped. I still expect them to be above the bottom two
7) Streator - They lost huge to CC and Herscher did too. I know the gap for Streator's loss was larger, but Reents never really puts up more than 49
8) Herscher - Could be switched with Streator, however they are winless and Streator has 1
Coal City (3-1) @ Reed-Custer (2-2) - Coalers continue to steamroll forward to their week 9 championship game. CC a lot RC not a lot. CC 56 RC 14
Herscher (0-4) @ Lisle (2-2) - Probably has the potential to be the best game this week, but Herscher is in for a long bus ride and a long night as well. I'd imagine the morale is on life support for the Tigers and Lisle knows they need a few more wins to make the playoffs after their off year. Lisle scored big in their two wins, who I would put in the same class as Herscher. Even against Canton, Herscher has had a porous defense. Look for Lisle to put up points, more than Herscher can, so for that reason Lions get a W. Lisle 42 Herscher 28
Peotone (3-1) @ Streator (1-3) - After seeing what the Tone did to Lisle, I'd bet this weeks result is similar. Peotone needs redemption for last years close loss to the Comets next week and this week will be a nice tune-up to get them there. Tone by a ton. Peotone 54 Streator 7
Wilmington (4-0) - @ Manteno (4-0) - GOTW! Two old foes battle in a matchup of the last two undefeated ICE teams. The fact that Manteno has had a few games where they didn't score a ton of points make me think this one won't be close though. Wilmo Rolls. Cats 42 Manteno 24
