I know....but I do have some form of reasoning for it.
1. Saturday football- hurts the overall atmosphere in my opinion and I know the charm of Duchon but still....it's Saturday football.
2. Renovations- when was the last time anything was updated/renovated?
3. Fan experience- if you can squeeze into the home side fine....otherwise outside of that you are either standing around the track or in Goose poop.
Also here is the work flow for these segments....and not an excuse but might make people understand it....they throw around a subject the day before....I submitted like 30-40 options....they cut it down to 13 that I don't know who they are until I get there...and I have literally 3-4 minutes at best to rank them in order. Againj no excuses and I stand by my Top 5 but if asked again Duchon would have made it....
I like your #1 pick edgy! Great facility. But Is there a HS team that uses it for all their home games?
It was a really good segment and I get your points. We really love the Saturday element and generally use that to our benefit come post season. Something about having the whole town walk down the hill to that setting that is magical and caused my wife and I to choose GW while standing on that field one midnight in January 2010.
You have valid points about the lack of renovations but spartan facilities are part of the Hitter mentality. I guess if you're a visitor, it might be less appealing.
One of my favorite things about Duchon is that fans can stand outside of the field and watch games from the sidewalk and park surrounding the field. The Lake and Fall foliage is the cherry on top.
