One good thing about Trump, he's managed to expose the Left for what they really are. They used to be able to hide their viciousness, nastiness, and downright contempt for voters. Not any more. He's smoked 'em out and now folks can more easily see how diabolical these people are. That's a good thing because the more they are exposed, the less there is to like about them and it's showing. They're having a hard time attracting voters to their message outside of their kook fringe Left and that's also a good thing. Roaches hate it when the lights are turned on! They try to run and hide, but Trump's got a 1000watt megabeam aimed right on 'em.

remember the lady in Clay County who lost her job because she said a certain first lady looked like an ape in heels?.........if that same principle is applied here there aren't a lot of liberals who would still have jobs......they are setting the example for the future.....they are making their beds......Trump and real America will make sure they lie in them (figuratively and literally

Did you hear about the guy in New York who went into a bar in Greenwich village wearing a red MAGA hat and they refused him service and had him escorted out? Like you said Snow Sled Baby, what goes around comes around.

I watched it to see it for myself. She just isnt that funny and if you paid attention nobody was laughing. She would tell a joke and video would cut to a table and there would be one person laughing and she looked like a call girl.

I just watched it. I don't know what the big deal is. It wasn't very funny and it wasn't really all that biting except that maybe it seems that way because the line on what is biting has moved so far.

I think the media is making a big deal out of it because it's a form of marketing themselves. It's the media correspondents dinner after all so if it's not a big story then that's bad for the media.

Trump didn't go. I don't think POTUS's should go to these things, although I don't think Trump stayed away on any kind of principle but rather because it was best politically for him to do, just like it was best politically for previous POTUS's to go to it.

But I think it's a crappy institution. The media shouldn't be so cozy with the POTUS that they sit together and joke. I think Trump staying away is good in that it hurts the popularity of the dinner. But of course, the next time it's a good thing politically for a POTUS to go to they will and it's become more popular again.

There were three lines that made me laugh (see below), which isn't many considering it was 19 minutes long and there were probably 50 or so lines/jokes. I don't even know what the second one means but I just found the juxtaposition funny.

"If a tree falls in the woods, how do we get Kellyanne (Conway) under that tree?"

"Mike Pence is what happens if Anderson Cooper's not gay."

"It's amazing that the Donald Trump campaign was in touch with Russia but the Hillary Clinton campaign wasn't even in touch with Michigan."

This here...very well stated Op2!

As for the jokes you picked as funny...a general rule in all good comedy is there has to be some element of truth in it in order for it to be believable and then twisted...to make it funny. Those jokes miss the mark. Trump wasn't in touch with Russia, Hillary was, Mike Pence is not Gay, and Anderson is no relation to him, and Kellyanne Conway wouldn't be standing under a falling tree for any reason. It's just not credible humor. But your point about the media pimping its own dinner is spot on.

Dumb ***** that want their comedians held to a higher standard than their President. Call me when ya get irritated over mocking the disabled, grabbing womens *****, calling our former POWs losers and denigrating a gold star family. Snowflakes can't handle it huh? Chickenshit Trump can't handle it either, that's why he was up in Michigan getting that racist feel good vibe by having his tribe boo "Hispanics" while lil Sarah had to take his criticism. And the media is making a big deal out of it? Or is Twits tweets about it making a big deal out of it?

I didn't realize it when I wrote this, but when the comedian was at the Correspondent's Dinner joking about how Hillary wasn't in touch with Michigan during the 2016 campaign, Trump was actually in Michigan giving a speech.

I find this very symbolic. Hillary lost partly because she can't connect with people like those in Michigan. Trump skipped the Correspondent's Dinner to go to Michigan. If Hillary had won the election, where do you think she would've been on Saturday night? Not in Michigan or anywhere else other than the Correspndent's Dinner.

Trump is not a "man of the people" by any means but at least he knows how to pretend. That matters in politics. Of course, sometimes his pretending to be a man of the people leads him to goad the worst impulses of some of the people, which is a whole other topic. But other times it leads him to do things that POTUSs ought to do, like skip correspondent's dinners.

I would love for it to become a tradition that on the night of the Correspondent's Dinner, the POTUS not only doesn't attend the dinner but goes out and gives a talk somewhere in the country, especially if it's somewhere where the correspondents never go unless there's an election or a natural disaster or some other big news story.

I find it extremely funny and telling that these "tough/blue collar" Trump supporters are offended by a few harmless jokes. It's just locker room talk guys. Get over it, girls will be girls. Except Sarah Sanders who has a wang.

So what you are saying is that liberals are always mad about this type of stuff. Cool, glad you cleared that up.

The only name I want to see behind Democrats is losers. That one works best for me and pretty much takes care of everything else. No one pays much attention to losers or anything they say.
