If Comey thought Trump was obstructing

didnt he have the obligation to go to the DOJ? Since he didn't do that (to our knowledge) then he must not have felt that Trump's actions/words rose to that level.

That is supposedly the correct path. If he felt he was being obstructed, he was supposed to go the Justice department, if he did not, then he felt there wasn't anything out of line. This is going to be a tight rope he will have to walk. You can't have it both ways..

What Comey knew.
Not really. If he though Trump was tying to obstruct he had a duty to report it immediately. If he thought that and sat on it, then it won't go well for him. The only other thought could be that he didn't feel his conversations with Trump or Trump's actions rose to the level of obstruction.

All speculative. Just sit back and enjoy the ride, it'll come out.

There are way more possible scenarios if you watched the (fake) news shows last night and this morning. Comey will be telling his side soon enough. Even if Comey gets criticized over his delay in releasing this info, the big loser will still likely be Trump.

His memo(s) has been subpoenaed and I'm sure he will be brought in to answer questions. Why the need to bury these things so quick? We have processes in our country. Let them do their jobs.

I'm not suggesting we bury...I can wait. Have you asked others to put their pitchforks away and wait?

There is no question though that Comey has a duty to report it to the DOJ immediately if he felt Trump was obstructing. He did not do this - I would assume we'd know by now if he did.

Comey had a duty to report it to the DOJ if he felt there was a crime involved - he hasn't. What other possible scenarios could there be...either it was a crime or it wasn't it.

Comey on Rog, let them have their fun. They once again fell hook, line and sinker for fake news. They have been losing a lot and thought they finally had something that was going to sink Trump. It's hilarious to sit back and watch lol.

In all honesty, should/do investigators run and blab about every detail during an investigation or wait until the end and do it all at once? IDK if Comey should have ran and told on POTUS right away or not. IDK if Comey's memo(s) are bad for POTUS or not.

All of this **** is just noise and the pissing match between the two parties is too much to handle anymore.

At the end of the day Hillary is not going to jail and Trump will not be impeached. They only way he's leaving office this term is by death or resignation - either of which are certainly possible

Thank you for your legal opinion counselor. I'm sure that many of the possible reasons talked about last night are probably in the print media today. Perhaps you could seek your answers there, good luck.

That about sums it up, and we've got 4 years, to sort through, and listen to, it all. :flushed:

Read Comeys resume and then read Trumps, we know who is lying, and I bet you don't release the most damaging memo first. I love how folks acting like it's about the "leakers" or what Comey "should have done" , its never about Trumps actions, chain of command with Trump at the top? Like Kasich said today, hate to say I told you so.

Doesn't change the fact that Comey is required to go to the DOJ if he felt Trump's actions rose to the level of criminal obstruction...immediately.

4 years? Hahahaha. It will all be over by the end of the summer.

Only if Trump gets bored and decides to call it quits. With his attention span, it's possible. No one is removing him from office though.

Like I said, this is nothing more than a pissing match between parties that will end up going nowhere, except distracting from real issues.

He isn't required to run to the POTUS...he is required to go to the DOJ though if he thought Trump's actions were criminal.

He isn't required to go immediately. He did what any intelligent attorney would do, document it in memoranda.

At that precise time or after the case/investigation is finished? Seems counter intuitive to me to stop and run to the DOJ at every bump in the road, but I'm def not an investigator.

He will not be impeached.....end of story. As I have said before....I believe there is a great possibility that Trump will say enough of this governing crap and bail out. I also am enjoying a few laughs from our friends that think the Comey memo will do Trump in. They are delusional....the so called memo will be ripped to shreds by anyone with half a brain. Now..if someone else was present and says that Trump pressured Comey to stop...its a different story.

He's a little different than a run of the mill attorney as the FBI Director. He can't say he witnessed action as that rise to the level of criminal intent and then just write a memo...and sit on it

By the way, his name is Comey.

Who do you think is more believable to the Senate Intelligence Committee, Trump or Comey?

I'm saying if he felt Trump's actions were criminal he needed to go to the DOJ immediately and not write a memo....and then sit on it...was he planning on releasing this memo if he didn't get fired?

He is now called a "witness." And yes he will testify.

He was in the middle of conducting an investigation for phuck's sake. Do you think he is going to go to the DOJ and report something in the middle of an investigation?

Sounds like a question he may get asked. I thought the article mentioned he was keeping all related memos until after the investigation was complete. In fact, he wouldn't even share the memos with anyone at the FBI involved with the investigation because he did not want to influence their process.

I agree with you that Trump is not going to be impeached, and I really wish people would stop throwing that word around, but I don't agree with your statement, "the so called memo will be ripped to shreds by anyone with half a brain." A) We have no idea what the memo(s) says and B) Intelligent people can disagree.
