Yep, it's basically been common knowledge on here for a while that Petrino was desperate to come here but the sunshine pumpers always tried to shut it down. Guess we can't really hide it anymore. Let's give Barnhart another extension.
Mitch did publicly state at the time fans wanting Petrino that he was not being considered for the UK head coaching position. In fairness, nearly all P5 schools said the same....except one: Louisville.

the POINT is he COULD have been here. and the AD and other leadership need to be held accountable for opting to pass on that and instead create the colossal cluster that now exists. Ineptitude at its highest!

I think another school would have definitely hired him away from Western if Louisville hadn't.
Exactly...no one is saying we can get Petrino now...we are saying we COULD have a couple years ago.
