Do you have any other suggestions for public officials when the hospitals are full or nearly?
The other problem with this **** take is that he would have to be implying that NOT having restrictions would mean the infections rates would stay the same (or be better?). So basically people NOT congregating in public spaces would still see people getting infected at the same rate where there are no limitations on congregating. A communicable disease that still spreads at the same rate despite people not gathering. That’s what a brain dead take like this implies.
Imagine thinking there was a lockdown and upon seeing transmission rates like this your first read was “wow...we shouldn’t even bother imposing restrictions because they do nothing” and it isn’t “wow...imagine how much worse it would be if we did nothing.”
Like...imagine not understanding the science any better than that. It’s no wonder we are in the shape that we are in. Just rampant anti-intellectualism.
