If man evolved from an ape... Why do we still have apes?

I believe the evolutionary explanation would be that humans created their own branch on the "life tree" as an offshoot from apes. That doesn't mean that apes are replaced by humans, just that some apes evolved into humans as a result of their environment and natural selection.

For the record, I don't personally believe that humans evolved from apes.

If man originated from Africa why aren’t we all black?

Likely because of evolutionary factors.

(1) Those earliest true-humans who left Africa bred with Neaderthals in Europe; if you are of Asian, or European descent, 2/4 percent of your DNA is Neanderthal. Most native Africans do not show traces of Neanderthal DNA.

(2) Darker skin pigmentation had less use in Europe and Asia than in Africa, and over time skin pigmentation lightened.

Here's a wild theory, and I'm sure I'll get blasted for it...but why can't there be both a creator and evolution?

It wouldn't be the total evolutionary theory of humans with consciousness evolving from single-celled organisms created by lightning striking a pool of nitrogen, but an intelligent designer creating life and then guiding small evolution changes over millions of years?

BUT IF THE DESIGNER WERE SO SMART THAT HE/SHE/IT/THEY COULD CREATE LIFE FROM DUST IN THE FIRST PLACE THEN WOULDN'T HE/SHE/IT/THEY BE SMART ENOUGH TO NOT HAVE TO MAKE CHANGES AND EVEN IF HE/SHE/IT/THEY HAD TO MAKE CHANGES WHY WOULD IT TAKE THEM MILLIONS OF YEARS WHY NOT JUST POOF AND CHANGE IT? HUH? I MEAN MAYBE THE WATCHMAKER WAS JUST BLIND AND COULDN'T SEE WHAT HE/SHE/IT/THEY WERE CREATING.

I’ve collected fossils, believed in evolution and geologic time and am a born again Christian.

I’ve never found a conflict in my faith and my knowledge.

As to why God created us through the process we can discern, maybe I’ll ask him one day!

There should still be transitional Ape/Men if we did. However, the last belief was that we all came from the same ancestor. Although, the missing link has never been found.

Maybe we as humans don't have the capacity to understand the ultimate plans of an omniscient creator. Maybe it's a plan that has to do with some supernatural thing that we don't even know about and therefore could never comprehend.

Surely humans aren't arrogant enough to think we actually know about and understand the entire universe. Science explains the natural not the supernatural. That's while you'll find many scientists who are Christians. The two aren't as mutually exclusive as some think.

Also, stop yelling at me.

^not a wild theory at all. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
What if the creator made man from his own image and HE was an APE. The race devolved. Then we get to heaven/eternity looking at our Godape knowing our current state of kind is a mutant freak show.

I guess we should get the hint from the current 2020 presidential candidates, as I’d easily vote for an ape before this congaline of misceants.
