If MC has any chance against BR, they need to....

Put the ball into Alec Thomas hands and let him do his thing.....in my 30 plus years of watching MC football, he is probably the best athlete I've seen, maybe a close second to McNabb because he doesn't have the best arm. Had he started at QB against LA and SR, I really think they would be 5-0 right now. Yes it takes away some of the carries from the RB's but the kid makes things happen....he needs to have the ball 85% of the time, wear out the BR defense trying to catch him, and hope the Defense finds their heart. If not, long day for the Caravan.

I couldn't agree more. LA had a ton of trouble with Thomas.

It will be a great game regardless. MC will be up - they just proceeded to shoot themselves in the foot in their losses. However, Rice will be the fastest team MC will have seen so far - they have way more speed than Loyola and Rita (granted Rule is a quick back). As for greatest MC athlete - mine would be Erik Pappas. His forward flp over a Fenwick DB to score a TD in 1983 was amazing. (people forget he had a full-ride to be Switzers QB at Oklahoma)

Scrap the inside belly option most of the night. Start the kid who apparently finished the SR game. Widen the field with the play calling and make BR defend sideline to sideline 25 yards deep. No turnovers. Pray BR has at least 3 turnovers. And slow the game down some. MC defense looked gassed on the taped replay from TV during SR's the last drive. Odds of a MC win 20%.

Id like to see them start Thomas since he came in relief in LA SR. Try and catch lightning in a bottle

I think MC's offense will be fine. Expect to see several different looks and Thomas featured. Agree MC can't afford TO's in this one. I was at the Provi game. Provi was able to move the ball in the first half and score on the Rice D plus they were fortunate Rice with two missed fgs. The problem is Rice has a big play offense and even while Smalling was quiet for a part of the game, they had others that did meaningful damage.
